Should i have demanded a discount for these converse shoes?

i was buying shoes yesterday and they only had a pair of size 8 left and one of the pair was in the converse box and the other one was in the stand(like for show) and i had to take that one and when i looked at it, it was like kind of dirty and the linen was like all sticking out. i was about to ask for like 5 dollars off but i wasnt sure if that was possible...


Could i have asked for a discount? if so, how much?


and i never asked for a discount so i didnt know how to say it..so how should i have said it?


and what if they didnt let me have the discount?





well anyways i just paid for the regular shoes price which was like 45

Yes, you should've asked for a $5 discount, because stores are supposed to sell damaged, dirty, or returned clothing for a cheaper priced. You should've said "Um, excuse be, but I notice that these are dirty and the linen is sticking out. Can I have a discount on this pair??" If they wouldv'e said no, you could have put the pair back and said thank you, and went to a different store. I have converse, and mine were in perfect condition for $30. You could've went to foot locker to get them clean and cheap.

Reply:Well complain to the manager of there, it was a major mall like nordstorm get ready to get piles of money because an employee should already know that and give you a discount COMPLAIN i tell you it is the best thing next to sueing to get money lolz i guess working is on that list too but complain.
