Breaking in Pointe Shoes?

I need to break in a new pair of pointe shoes for a performance, which means that wearing them to break them in is out of the realm of options. I have to get hard shank Grishko Fouette pointe shoes which have a deep vamp and take forever to break in and are very hard to do so. I have heard to slam them on the floor over and over and over again, bend the shank as much as possible, pour water on them, crush the box in the door, hit them with a hammer, and so on. Which of these works best? Also, are there any better ways to break in a pair of brand new pointe shoes? I haven't sewn them yet or anything, but any help is appreciated.

Breaking in Pointe Shoes?
Bending the shank is a good idea, but not so much that it breaks. If you put them on your feet and roll through demi pointe on them and do some releves, they will be better suited to your feet than simply slamming them in a door without putting them on your feet at all. I wouldn't advise pouring water on them - small spots of water are good where they prove to be especially hard, but if you actually pour water on them or soak them in water, you'll ruin the shoe. If you do hit them with a hammer, do so lightly to avoid breaking the box or vamp beyond repair. The best way is always to simply dance in them, but since that's not an option for you, I would put them on your feet for an hour or so, and walk around your house in them, do some releves, and let them get used to your feet for a short while at least. Then, use a water soaked paper towel to put water on the spots that refuse to break in with the rest of the shoe. If necessary, using a hammer or a door can be effective if you do so with caution. Good luck at your performance!
Reply:for performances one of the most improtant things is that the pointe shoes are still shiny. I would wear your shoes around the house, just with a pair of socks over so you dont get food on them or whatever, this is really helpful, then i would also recoment the putting the box in a towl, then slowly trying to close the door on the shoes.

Reply:Well, I had Serenades before.. which have a pretty tough shank, and what I did was wedge the shoe in a doorway and closed the door on the end of the shank, pressing the end of the box in towards the wall and continued putting more of the shank through the door until the shank was more broken in. I don't know if I described that well... but if you got what I was going for, do it carefully! Be sure to listen for any creaking in the shank. Also, try and mold the shank to the curve of a tennis ball.
Reply:Slide the shank of the show between the door and the doorframe and slam the door, don't just close the shoe where the door opens. Don't crush the box, that isn't what needs ot be broken in. Just keep bending the shank. You can soften the sides of the crows with some water, but if the box goes soft ti wont support you
Reply:What i do with the fouette grishkos is I slam the door on the box and shank
