Does anyone know a good way for storing a LOT of shoes?

My aunt has a ton of shoes. She's ran out of room in her closet for storing them. Up till now she's kept them all in their original boxes and just stacked them up... But now they're falling over or hitting the ceiling. So, I was wondering if anybody knows a way to store them. Perferably cheap and compact.

storing them in those boxes is a bog waste of space, and can be an eyesore


think about giving a few away. they all can't be different, her size, STILL her style, AND necessary

Reply:Take all of them out, go over them and toss/give away, then stack them on the floor of the closet(s) on two-tiered racks.





What she should hang on the doors are all those purses she must have to match!
Reply:you can get one of those "over the door" shoe racks at walmart. they are little plastic pockets you put shoes in, I think they hold about ten pairs. you can also get stackable shoe racks at walmart they are made of wood. you can buy two and stack them ontop of each other, they hold about 20 pairs, they sit on the floor of your closet. hope tha helps

Reply:You should stuff them with tissue paper or newspaper, whichever is appropriate. I would try to store them all in shoe boxes, but if that is not possible, then line them up side by side in a long, shallow box. Don't stack them on top of eachother. They will come out squished!
