Better STRONGER alternative to Freed Studios II Pointe Shoes?

I love my Freed Studios II because I can feel the floor, they're comfortable, and they're flexible. But I seem to break them in too easily. I feel like if i wore them for 4 times a week for 3 weeks the box would be crushed like the ones I had before. I was wondering if there was a better stronger alternative to Freeds that had the same characteristics of the shoe? I don't have slender narrow feet so don't offer me brands that have those kinds of shoes. but i don't have super wide feet either. Don't mention Gaynor Mindens because i have a pair and i hate them because i there's so much cushion i can't feel the floor or roll through demi. I haven't tried any other brands so just gimme your input! THANKS!!!

I hate Gaynor Mindens Too!! It's hard to find a shoe harder than a Freed, but make sure the shank is the hardest available...I have heard Gambas and Prima Soft are hard.but i dont wear them. I am hard on my shoes and the Grishko Ulonava, Vaganova, Fouette, and Pro Flex are all very nice durable shoes if you get the hardest shank. the Fouette has an especially hard box...
Reply:There's no substitute advice for someone who is specially trained to fit pointe shoes. Go to a professional. Try on a zillion pairs. It may not take that many, but it's free and it's worth it!

I danced for many years, (now I teach) but when I danced Gambas were my shoe of choice.





Gamba makes several models, I like the 93 which has a wide stable box and a carbon fiber shank that bends but doesn't break easily. The shanks are available in Medium and Hard. The box is not super hard, but I never had too many problems with getting soft quickly.





I have also used Repettos. They have a super hard box, and I used them for years. The shank would die before the box, but I felt a bit clunky in them. They have new models now so they might have something good.





You might have to do some experimenting with a couple brands and models. It can take time to find the perfect shoe for you but once you find it . . . Its amazing.
