Russian pointe shoes and jet glue questions!!!!?

right now, i am wearing russian pointes with a MF shank. what would the next harder shank be after that?

also, i tend to break in my pointe shoes after about a week, if that, and then the box goes completely dead. are there websites that i can buy jetglue from? or is there anything else you suggest to making the box last longer????

thanks ahead!!!

Russian pointe shoes and jet glue questions!!!!?
ok it depends... if you have really arched and good feet than i know just the trick! get some duct tape and wrap it around the ball of your foot so it just before your toes three times. than it will hold your feet back so they don't break as fast. that should work. if not then don't listen to me!
Reply:I wear Russian pointe too and I suggest you check out there website.

I would reccomend you to call them and talk to them about it. I have had other pointe shoes and they are good but Russian pointes are my favorite. Look at the website and skim through the pages. I think you would want something from the Jewel series because they are longer lasting.
Reply:Discount dance is a good website. You can also buy jet glue at dance stores such as Applause. I don't wear russian pointes so I don't know about the shanks but I always have to jet glue my shoes because they're Freeds and get soft really fast.

Jet glue works really well. The best way to make them last longer is to jet glue them at the first sign of them getting soft or after you've worn them once or twice. The longer you let your boxes get soft the less likely it will be for you to save them.
Reply:Try pointe shoe glue. A friend of mine used it at Joffrey this summer and swears by it. She said it is better than jet glue. I wear GM so I haven't tried it. I've seen it in stores in NYC but you can also order it from their website. www.pointeshoeglue.com
Reply:I listed some web sites to help you. I emailed a friend of mine who is a ballerina about this but she is out of town for awhile, doing a show, so I don't expect to hear back for a couple weeks...

I hope these sites might help. Good luck and keep dancing....
Reply:I would suggest getting shoes than are not russian. If you tape your feet, it would be harder to show off your arch in your point
Reply:I wear Russian Pointes in a HFL shank... I believe they also make a hard shank without the flex in it. Be careful if you are going to use jetglue because it could take away a lot of the articulation and flexibility if you rely on that too much to hold the shoe together.

I suggest getting a good role in a ballet company so new shoes are handed to you for every performance! :)
