Since 2003 my mother-in-law Karen has been sending out Xmas parcels to our troops in Iraq %26amp; Afghanistan(my husband being one of them). Each parcel costs £5 %26amp; we include items from socks to toiletries to chocolate, cakes %26amp; a Xmas pressie(all the little luxuries they miss out there) We rely entirely upon donations %26amp; sponsors %26amp; do all the buying, packing %26amp; wrapping ourselves. Our aim is to send out 1000 parcels this Xmas - but in order to do this we need as many shoes boxes as possible. We spend our dinner hrs %26amp; weekends going from shop to shop getting as many as we can but this year shoe box supplies seem to be running low! Without the boxes we can't send these seasonal gifts and the parcels do so much to raise the troops moral, especially as its Xmas. Can anyone help - I need to find a company that manufacturs shoe boxes and would be willing to donate some, any ideas people? Thanks
Please help! Can anyone help me - we need shoe boxes for our troops!?
Why don't you try some local stores that display their shoes out of the box, like Burlington coat factory or TJ Maxx? They have to be doing something with the boxes, right? You have intrigued me....I will do a little more research on this topic! Good luck.
Reply:Don't send chocolate to Iraq- It'll melt. The military has its own field-ration chocolate that is melt-resistant. ;) Most militaries do.
What they really need is mouth-tobacco.
Reply:I don't know about any company, but I am sure that if you give an address and a list of items that you would like to get -including the shoe boxes, you will get plenty of support from yahoo users.
Reply:Hi I know its hard to find shoe boxes, because our church does shoe boxes for poor kids in africa. Payless might be willing to give out shoe boxes if it is for a good cause. hope this helps you good luck!
