I just sold a pair of shoes on ebay. I can mail them directly in the box but what should i put over the box to protect that. I don't want to put that in another box...it'd be difficult to find a correctly proportioned box.
How should I mail shoes to someone?
USPS has two different boxes that are perfectly sized to fit a pair of shoes, one is a flat-rate priority mail box, the other is a priority box where the rate is based on weight and destination. The boxes are free, and the cost to mail the flat-rate box is $8.10 to anywhere in the US. The smaller box, he one with the variable rate, will probably cost slightly less if the shoes are of the lighter weigh variety. I'd recommend either going to a post office to pick up one or both of those boxes (if they're not sitting out, just ask for them), or you can go to usps.com - follow the link to their store and then under mailing/shipping, click on priority. It's on page 2, they will deliver them to you at no charge.
Reply:You should put them in a second box. A brown plain box. Stick the shoes in the regular box they came in, then put the regular box in the second box. You dont want to mail a pair of shoes in the regular box-especially if its an expensive brand. Too much temptation for someone to take them along the line.
Reply:air filled baggies, styrofoam peanuts, white shedded paper, ping pong balls, etc for inside. Just tape the box and tape a white index card on the outside to put the address.
Reply:Wrap the box in brown paper. Or even wrapping paper turned backwards so the white part is out. There is a chance the box will be crushed during shipping but not likely
Reply:Go to your local UPS Store....they can do anything your want.
