What are the best shoes?

I work packing boxes standing and walking on cement 8 hours a day, then walk home 3 and a half miles 3 nights out of 5 the other two I'm so sore I take a cab. I wear Reebox now with a gel heel in it but still get blisters.

What are the best shoes?
In looking for a best shoe that fits you, you have to look for the best qualities that suit your needs. Some that are good are the ones that are flexible, flat, heel not flared. Maybe you should try walking boots. Those are usually for long distance walkers. Adidas Adistar Control, a favorite for cushioning and stability among walkers polled, is the top pick for stability control. New Balance 754, this flexible, lightweight cushioned shoe is great for those with a neutral gait who want both speed and cushioning. It's firmer than its predecessor, the 753. It also comes with New Balance's knotty laces, which resist coming undone. is a top pick for cushion control. So if I had to pick, I'd look into those two. There are also some other top picks such as...

Asics Gel Kayano Walker- This walking shoe is flat and flexible but also provides stability and cushioning. It was named "Best Walking Shoe" by "Health" Magazine and receives the American Podiatric Medicine Association "Accepted" seal.

Mizuno Wave Alchemy - Rated by many as one of the best stability shoes on the market, the latest edition has more cushioning and added a new lacing system for a tighter fit.

Brooks Trance - The Trance provides stability with lots of cushioning. Lots of toe room and good to medium to large sized walkers and runners. The list price is expensive but you can often find it on sale.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS - A well-cushioned stability shoe, it also is very flexible in the forefoot, as needed by walkers.

Fila Flow Sanctuary - This stability shoe provides "cushioned guidance" to help you achieve a straight and stable stride. It is very flexible in the forefoot while it has a medial post to provide stability under the arch. The fit is snug in the heel and midfoot while giving plenty of toe room. It is known for its "sporty" feel and I find myself wanting to walk faster and faster in these shoes.

New Balance 767 - The 767 received the Runner's World "Best Update" award in September, 2006. It is a stability shoe with good cushioning. It comes in regular and all-weather versions.

Mizuno Wave Rider - A cushioned trainer that is great for walkers who don't overpronate. The low heel and rocker heel are just right for walker, and the shoe is still lightweight.

Asics Gel Cumulus - Good cushioning at a good price. Has a flexible forefoot and is designed for those with a neutral gait.

Spira Volare - Spira contains a wave spring in the heel, so you get a little assist with each step. Wonderful cushioning without any additional weight.

Asics Gel Nimbus - The Asics Gel Nimbus is flexible but also is stable enough in the forefoot for heavier people.

SAS Freetime - A favorite of volksmarch walkers for decades. A full leather shoe that has a flexible sole and lots of cushion. The only shoe you will want for standing in lines, and also good and durable for the trail. You can't buy them from the internet, but they are available at factory outlet stores and comfort shoe stores.

Brooks Glycerin - Flexible, lightweight, and plenty of cushioning for the walker who has a neutral gait.

New Balance 880 - The 880 is the latest update to the 878 and 879 - great cushioned shoes that feature a generous rounded toebox. It's made on a wider last, so those with wide feet love this shoe, and it also comes in widths.

As you can see there are plenty of options for you to choose from.
