I have this cat and he's peed on 3 garbage bags worth of clothes and my stilleto heels. Is there anyway to get rid of the awful smell? I washed the clothes in hot water 3 times with detergent and vinegar and the smell is still there!!!
Also why is he doing this? The litter box is cleaned daily and he's fed twice a day.
My cat peed on my new clothes and shoes?
your cat is probably trying to tell you he has a urinary tract infection and needs to go to the vet for some antibiotics
Reply:something in the clothes triggers the instinct to mark territory, some odor or something...the stilleto heel shoes i can understand why he wouldn't want you to wear them, they will do more harm to your body and you won't know it till later in life, so he may be trying to protect your health there.
sometimes my cat marks my clothes, but mostly work clothes that i can wash with bleach and that takes out the smell...
actually one cycle through the wash with or without bleach will remove the oder of cat pee...if you smell it after that i think you may be imagining it, please don't take offense to that, but if there were any lingering oder in my clothes my lovely and talented and sensitive nosed wife would tell me ALL about it, i'm sure.
Reply:There products in the pet stores that may help with the oder. It could be something that the cat smells from the garbage bags, cus I had a cat do the same thing.
Good luck.
Reply:I have never had to get cat pee out of cloths but they make a special cleaner get the smell out of carpets. See if they make a cleaner like that. also if he has not been neutered he needs to be. That often stops the spraying.
Reply:Try puting a cap full of a product called Nature's miricale in with the clothes. Your shoes are doomed, just throw them out.
Reply:If my cat would pee on my clothes, that would be the same as telling me it has a death wish.
If this happened to me I would take it to the vet. ONE WAY.
Reply:Maybe he thinks you have bad taste and therefore thinks he's doing you a favor....Not sure...anywho, good luck on solving your problem!
Reply:You might have a sick kitty with a bladder infection.. take it to the vet. it will keep doing it until it gets better. There is a product called Urine be Gone I think. Good luck.
