My dog eats my Fiances everything. Her shoes, underwear, jeans, jewelry.......?

We're very clean and dont leave things out, but when we are gone our dog will stop at nothing to knock over hampers, dressers, end tables, jewelry boxes, she even figured out how to open the closet door. She'll stop at nothing, Do whatever she has to do to get to my fiances stuff, but NEVER when we're home and never my stuff, only my fiances... When we're home she is a perfect angel. I've rubbed her nose in what she's chewed and spanked her, and said NO!!!! So now when I come home and she's destroyed something, before I even find it she hides under the couch or bed. Like she knows she wasnt supposed to! But when we're gone she just doesnt care. What the hell is wrong with my dog? How can I make her stop?

The dog sounds like she has a typical case of doggy boredom. Make sure to give her plenty of exercise before she's left alone, and tons of attention from both of you when you're home. You can teach her simple obedience to keep her mind occupied. I personally dislike seeing dogs crated all day long -- but perhaps you could confine her with a baby gate to one part of the house that has been totally "dog proofed." Your best bet, however, is probably just giving her lots of exercise (mental or physical) to release her energy into something positive. Make sure she has plenty of toys.
Reply:So what's the problem? Sounds like it takes the trouble out if getting her undressed...
Reply:Maybe you pissed the dog off , she doesn't like your choice of chicks to marry.
Reply:lol your dog is not bored she is jealous. I have had dogs that were jealous and not like my partner. In my case it was for a good reason, but thats another story. lol

You don't say what type of dog this is but I agree with kenneling this dog when you are both gone.

Your Fiance can try to make friends and you can reassure your dog that you do love her, but beyond that there isn't a lot you can do. IF your dog becomes physically agressive toward your girl you are going to have to choose, 'cause I don't see that being resolved. Good luck.
Reply:You are going to have to crate her before she eats you literally out of house and home.
Reply:Sounds like she's bored when she's at home alone.

Unfortunately since you aren't there to catch her doing it you can't really punish her and expect her to understand why.

If you do punish her she'll just start dreading you coming home because that's the only correlation she can make.

Try getting a reward ball (hard ball that let's food out when rolled) to keep her a little more entertained while you're out

Reply:It sounds like your dog is jealous of your fiance and is trying to tell you that she wants your attention too! Try spending some one on one time with your dog, taking her on walks, dog parks, car rides...whatever, just as long as its you and her. She is acting out to get attention, whatever kind she can get. Show her you still love her too, and spend some good quality one on one time to show her she's not being replaced!
Reply:Dogs can be very territorial about their owners. When they see hanging out with someone new, they feel neglected and will stop at nothing to get your attention. I believe this is why your dog only messes with her stuff, thinking it will make her leave you alone.
Reply:ha ha
Reply:Your dog is jealous of your girl. Just make sure to show her lots of love and attention and have your fiance do the same.
Reply:First I would lock up everything she chews. Yell at her when she does but make sure she understands what she did wrong. I would buy a cage to put her in when you go out. If that doesn't work buy an obedience book according to the type of breed.
Reply:she doesnt like your fiance or shes mad when your fiance leaves.she hides cuz youve trained her to be afraid of u when u get home.hitting a dog is called abuse, she doesnt understand y u hit her!!!!clean up the mess without saying a word and either crate train her or lock her in a room witha baby gate also give her some kongs and nylabones to chew on when your gone and walk her before u leave
Reply:One time my dog at my taxes after we filled them out, i had to do it over again! i was so ticked off. i would go to pets mart and pick up this spray, its like "Soar Apple" or something. I sprayed this on our sofas, clothes, bed and stuff and after one or two times of biting it my dog left our stuff alone. also try leaving something at home while your gone to amuse her/him such as those dog toys where you fill it with peanut butter! my dog loves those. maybe you could even try to fence her/him off with a babygate so it stays only in the kitchen while your gone. hope this helps!
