Is a shoe box a good habitat for a silk worm?
as far as i know it is fine. it would probly b a good idea to keep the lid on so they dont crawl out, but make sure you put heaps of air holes in the box and put it in a cool place
Reply:Yes.

On with holes punched in it.

Feed Mulberry leaves [possibly lettuce leaves?].

De-silk most of the cocoons before the moths hatch.

Leave a few cocoons untouched if you want some more silkworms for next season.
Reply:yeah its fine to keep silk worms in a shoe box i remember when i was in first grade, we used to keep silk worms in a shoe box in the class room, any way good luck
Reply:A silk worm?? I want to know where you got one. And what do u plan on doing with him? Now im curious.
Reply:From my experience, i'd say its fine. Leave the lid open, however, for optimal light and oxygen exposure.
Reply:Hi Sam, when I was a child we always kept our silkworms in cardboard shoe boxes with the lid on. We also put small holes in the box with a skewer. Hope this helps!
Reply:Is it a golden shoe box? I represent the league of silkworms in chaos and we demand better rights for all things of a silken nature.
