i started selling on ebay and i was wondering if i can use
any kind of boxes to ship my product to my customers. i rather use my own that way i can save money, instead of paying for the boxes that usps have.
Can you use personal boxes rather than buy usps boxes? boxes as in shoe boxes ect.?
Why aren't you taking advantage of the free priority boxes the USPS offers? USPS.COM offers free boxes, free delivery confirmation, free carrier pickup.
Go online and check it out or call 1-800-ASK-USPS and request a call from a small business specialist.
They offer perfect corrugated shoeboxes free!
Reply:I doubt if a shoe box would stand up to the handling these sort of things get. You can use whatever you have, but do make sure it's strong enough.
I know for a fact that a certain courier/carrier considered any "unofficial" boxes to be fair game for a little lack of care. I hope that's no longer the case, but in reality . . .
Reply:As an ebay seller, also, I always recycle cardboard boxes. The best boxes to use are STURDY corrugated cardboard boxes. (I often get empty copy paper boxes from work and cut them down.) Please don't send someone an item they paid hard earned money for in a flimsy shoe box. I buy and sell both on ebay, and when I get something in a flimsy box, it sends a message to me that the seller did not care whether I got the item intact or not.... they just wanted my money. Don't forget that anything you mail will get treated very roughly in handling, and may at some point be at the bottom of a 300 lb stack of packages.
Reply:yes just make sure that they are good and sturdy.
