Do you have to add the box part to it or something?
Can you make soft ballet shoes into pointes shoes?? if so how??
wtf?? no you cant turn soft ballet shoes into pointe shoes. go buy pointe shoes.
Reply:No, sorry. However you can turn a pointe shoe into a soft shoe which strengthens your feet faster during class.
Definitely buy real pointe shoes so you don't risk hurting yourself with ballet shoes.
Reply:No sorry it doesn't work that way. A pointe shoe is special because it has a plaster molding which makes it hard(aka the box)soft ballet shoes (canvas, leather) are not meant so support your body. If you attempt to go up on pointe in soft shoes, you can really injure your foot. If you want to look like a ballerina you are going to have to get pointe shoes, and take classes to strengthen your feet. GOOD LUCK!!!
Reply:nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
It is ttly different..........
go buy some.
Reply:Nope, go buy yourself some real pointe shoes, after all you don't want to screw up your feet.
Reply:well kind of but dont before the pointe shoe we have today was made all a pointe shoe was was a ballet soft shoe with a bit of startch on it!! then they added a box but it was still flimsy then the put the shank in but you cant do it yourself it would be good if you could though!!
Reply:You would seriously hurt your self so dont even try it.
Reply:Unless, you are a professional cobbler(shoemaker) it
can not be done.
You are MUCH BETTER OFF of getting a pair of new pointe shoes
straight from the dance supply shop.

My man has too many shoes and boots and he won't buy shoe racks!?
he wants to keep them in the boxes and stack them up like we live at foot locker and i am tired of it. he is obssesed with footwear and it is cluttery he don't even wear half of them. and he is doing the same to my son he has 9 pairs of sneakers and he is 14 months and his feet grow fast and i tell him don't but too many he won't get alot of wear out of them wait until he grows out of them but he wants to get him more and i said buy him some toys or something! i feel surrounded and it is driving me crazy!
My man has too many shoes and boots and he won't buy shoe racks!?
I think you should sit down with him alone and try to tell him how you feel about all this shoe thing going on.
Maybe sell out all his shoes or just buy a rack.
Good luck honey!
Reply:Go shoe shopping (join the family)
while you're out, buy three or more wooden cabinets, put some in your bed rm and some in your sons bdrm. When daddy buys shoes, mama, should buy too. if not shoes then purses, hats, jewelry, yeah that's it, start buying Jewelry. If you don't go broke first, it is possible, papa will get the message
Reply:Maybe you should purchase one of those over the door shoe holders. They usually hold between 9 - 12 pairs of shoes.
Good luck.

I have 2 shoe boxes of usned stamps from my boyhood. Surely there is a non-profti org. that could use them..?
Actually, there is a woman on one of my Yahoo groups that collects stamps for a developmentally disabled workshop. They send them out to stamp collecters. If you email me, I will give her your info.

I imagine that any charity would be glad to have them. Maybe a local school auction/fundraiser donation. If they are collecters items, maybe call the local chapter for the make a wish foundation and they can sell them to fund the wishes.

Is a shoe box a good habitat for a silk worm?
is it a good habitat and if so do i need to keep the lid of or on?
Is a shoe box a good habitat for a silk worm?
as far as i know it is fine. it would probly b a good idea to keep the lid on so they dont crawl out, but make sure you put heaps of air holes in the box and put it in a cool place
Reply:Yes.
On with holes punched in it.
Feed Mulberry leaves [possibly lettuce leaves?].
De-silk most of the cocoons before the moths hatch.
Leave a few cocoons untouched if you want some more silkworms for next season.
Reply:yeah its fine to keep silk worms in a shoe box i remember when i was in first grade, we used to keep silk worms in a shoe box in the class room, any way good luck
Reply:A silk worm?? I want to know where you got one. And what do u plan on doing with him? Now im curious.
Reply:From my experience, i'd say its fine. Leave the lid open, however, for optimal light and oxygen exposure.
Reply:Hi Sam, when I was a child we always kept our silkworms in cardboard shoe boxes with the lid on. We also put small holes in the box with a skewer. Hope this helps!

Dust bunnies, shoe boxes, suitcases, a cat ….. What is underneath your bed?
Nothing but the dog that where she sleeps. It's the funniest thing I have ever seen. A big pit crawls into a space that is maybe 6 inches off the floor. Too bad America's Funniest Home Videos isn't around anymore,I could make some money off that video.

How many shoe boxes do you have?
Its funny you mentioned that, because I had to actually buy new shoes this weekend because my little sister needed a shoebox for school for V-day. Of course I could of just asked the clerks for an empty shoebox, but where's the fun in that. I also bought two, but I gave one shoebox to my little sis. That left me one box total.

Do you keep your shoe boxes after youve bought the shoe?
Sure do. They are a great storage place for many items.

Thank You for the Best Answer. Report It
Reply:I do all of the time.
They make great places to keep photos you haven't had the time to organize.
Science projects for the kids. Critter holders when Timmy wants the frog from the neighbors yard, or the lizard he can't live without.
Barbie beds when you don't want to spend a fortune buying the real thing.
Also a place to store your secret treasures from the families eyes.
These are the reasons I keep them.......
Also to hold the shoes I originally bought too!
Reply:For dress shoes, yes. I keep them in the boxes on the shelf at the top of the closet. For athletic shoes, no. I put them on the floor of the closet.
Reply:I keep some of them.I don't have space for them all.If I have a pair that I think will be scratched easily or that I know I won't wear a lot, I keep the box.

Reply:Yes, because they are great for putting stuff in that you want to keep. Sometises I recycle them and use them for a gift box after I decorate them.
Reply:Yeah. When I have enough I glue them all together and spray paint them with sparkle or speckled paint. I sell the 'cubby hole cabinets' at my yearly garage sale.

Is it better to keep shoe in shoe box or zip-lock bags? i do not have space for more boxes..?
better to keep them in shoe boxes so they won't get crushed and smooshed. zip lock bags aren't good because they offer little protection and on top of it no air can get to them, encouraging the growth of mold and fungi on the shoe. How about one of those big shoe racks you can buy at a department store? Look at your problem from a different angle and start getting rid of the shoes that you don't wear any more -- give them to the Salvation army or sell them at a used clothing store (or ebay)

you could always try the space bags that you see on tv. you can get them at walmart

Do I have to use a shoe box for making a pinhole camera?
Can I use a smaller box such as tissue box? The pinhole camera that I need to make does not need to take pictures. It just have to have a white paper screen at the back to view an inverted image of a candle.
Do I have to use a shoe box for making a pinhole camera?
The longer the distance from the pinhole to the image, the larger the image will be. If you look at the illustration here,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pin_hole_ca...
the image of top of the tree and the bottom of the tree will always touch the red lines. If the image screen is closer to the pinhole, the image will be smaller.
As far as your question about circular boxes, you put your pin hole on the side of an cylindrical box and your white screen opposite it, the screen will be curved and the image will be distorted. If you put the pinhole and the screen on the ends, there will be no difference in how the image looks.
Reply:you can use a Quaker Oats box (tubular), too.
Reply:I used an empty milk carton
Reply:I used an empty oatmeal container, it worked pretty good.
Reply:You can use anything sealed from light with a small hole in it. This kind of device is called a "camera obscura". There are BUILDINGS in California that have a small hole in the ceiling, and on a sunny day you can look at an image from outside projected onto a white surface!
Go if you can. big fun...
Reply:You can use many things to observe the sun.
NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN!
Use a piece of card to view the sun with a telescope (DO NOT LOOK THROUGH THE TELESCOPE), move it until the light shines on the card.
This is great for sun-spot viewing and good for solar eclipses.
Safety first - Looking at the sun through a telescope or binoculars will lead to PERMINANT blindness. Looking at the sun with the naked eye will lead to temporary blindness and possible perminant eye damange.
Have a look at web-site to tell you how to view the sun. Never look at the sun.
Reply:no, you can use anything that can be made light tight ie. a coffee can, match box, your own mouth
Reply:Hi You can use any kind of box as long as the light don't leak in.
Reply:No. Just a cubic box.
Reply:all u have to do is make two holes on either sides...breadthwise...and cover one of them with tracing paper...make sure u drop oil on the tracing paper properly so that it covers the whole surface of the paper...now see the image of the candle from the other open hole...u are done..

How can you make a shoe box look old?
It can be a cardboard box too. I need it for a history project. We need to put "old" letters and pictures in a box, and it should look old.
Thanks!
How can you make a shoe box look old?
use an old shoe box, and tear parts of it to make it look worn out
you can even burn sides of the box and to make it look discolored, stain it will coke or another drink.
for the letters to look old, you can burn the sides of them to make them look historic =]
hope this helps! =D
Reply:stain it with some hot tea. just make tea and dab it on the shoe box.
take a bit of sandpaper or a rough kitchen sponge and make the edges and stuff of the box look worn down.
maybe bend the lid back and forth a bit so it doesn't quite fit any more, so it looks like its been put on and off the box a lot.
you could do a decoupage thing to it; paste old looking images to it, of flowers or old newspaper stories.
tie it with a big ribbon
look online to see if you can find pics of old shoe boxes for other ideas
Reply:get some dirt, and put the dirt in some water, put the box in the dirt water, take it out, let it dry and it will dry lookin old :)
Reply:take sandpaper and scrape it,
burn the edges with a lighter, or electric stove?(i did that for this history diary journal, it worked real well :])
sort of bend it and twist / play around with it.
_hope that helps :]

Can you use personal boxes rather than buy usps boxes? boxes as in shoe boxes ect.?
i started selling on ebay and i was wondering if i can use
any kind of boxes to ship my product to my customers. i rather use my own that way i can save money, instead of paying for the boxes that usps have.
Can you use personal boxes rather than buy usps boxes? boxes as in shoe boxes ect.?
Why aren't you taking advantage of the free priority boxes the USPS offers? USPS.COM offers free boxes, free delivery confirmation, free carrier pickup.
Go online and check it out or call 1-800-ASK-USPS and request a call from a small business specialist.
They offer perfect corrugated shoeboxes free!
Reply:I doubt if a shoe box would stand up to the handling these sort of things get. You can use whatever you have, but do make sure it's strong enough.
I know for a fact that a certain courier/carrier considered any "unofficial" boxes to be fair game for a little lack of care. I hope that's no longer the case, but in reality . . .
Reply:As an ebay seller, also, I always recycle cardboard boxes. The best boxes to use are STURDY corrugated cardboard boxes. (I often get empty copy paper boxes from work and cut them down.) Please don't send someone an item they paid hard earned money for in a flimsy shoe box. I buy and sell both on ebay, and when I get something in a flimsy box, it sends a message to me that the seller did not care whether I got the item intact or not.... they just wanted my money. Don't forget that anything you mail will get treated very roughly in handling, and may at some point be at the bottom of a 300 lb stack of packages.
Reply:yes just make sure that they are good and sturdy.

Shoe box- not -rack smells awful, what should be put in?
Baking soda is very good for absorbing smells. You could also try some "masking" products like a potpourri bag, Fabreez, or Glade.

Shoe box house?
I am making my little sister a house for her little plastic dog. Does anyone have some ideas of what I can *make* to put in it and what to use to make it?
Please help and serious answers only thanks :)!
Shoe box house?
the dollar store has plastic boxes. Next time you get pizza save the little "table" in the center of the box. Use bottle caps for water bowls.

Christmas shoe boxes?
How many of you have started to do the xmas.boxes for the needy children out in the poorer countries, our children have so much it teaches them to share. I think it's a great idea.
Christmas shoe boxes?
I have done it twice. Last year I had problem finding a shoebox, shoe shops like Lillywhites said they can't give me any. I didn't want to spend money on a new pair of shoes cos I could spend the money making another two boxes.
i finally decided to try my neighbors in the same block. I put up a notice in the corridor asking if they had any unwanted shoebox to give away for this purpose. A week later just before the deadline, I got three big boots size boxes! although they were too big my husband managed to make them into the 'standard' size shoeboxes, I made three at the end.
It was wonderful, really wonderful.
Reply:my children do it every year, i think it,s great!
Reply:Ive done shoe boxes for the last 2 years....i enjoy making up the boxes for the needy families... enjoy knowing i mite make a difference and make at least one needy family smile xxx
Reply:I havent started it but I did it last year and it was so very rewarding. I hope to do it again this year.
Reply:I do it every year with my National Honor Society students. It is a great way to give back to those less fortunate.
Reply:Well done to you and your children. It is as you say a wonderful teaching opportunity. Our Church always reach out to those in need in whatever way we can and it brings such happiness and joy as we become involved in all sorts of projects to help others and also local communities, and throughout the world. God Bless you for your efforts.
Reply:it is a great idea and God bless you for doing this....
Reply:I did one every year at my old school.
This year we're buying a cow for a family in Africa.
Reply:I haven't started a Christmas box for children in another country, but I have signed up for the Christmas Drive in our own community this year, you get a description of a family in need, the ages and sexes of their children and basically create a Christmas for that family... food , gifts , etc.... I sponsor a world vision child monthly, but thought it would be nice to keep Christmas close to home this year.
Reply:I'm for it as long as it doesn't go to the bin Laden children.
Reply:It's a great idea and I do it all year round so the boxes are ready and it's easier to pick stuff up when you do a weekly shop, this way the children are in your thoughts all year round, not just christmas. I think it's great that people do this.
Reply:Yes we have. I am a single parent struggling to make ends but my children give up some of their pocket money and even some of their toys to put into one or two shoe boxes each year. They learn at school where the shoe boxes go to and they could not believe that some children had never had a Christmas present.
Well done to Operation Christmas Child and all the volunteers who enable this joy to be spread around the needy children of the world.

Shoe Box or small paper bag to fit your essentials in if there was a disaster?
Small paper bag has handles.
Box and Bag is same size more or less.
Give reason for your choice?
Shoe Box or small paper bag to fit your essentials in if there was a disaster?
shoe box.. will probably last a little bit longer as it's a little bit stronger, and may prevent items from getting as wet as they would in a paper bag.
Reply:shoe box,
i will borrow my mates, well he does have size 14 feet,
lol so it would be more handy and bigger than a small bag.

Shoe box & coffee can ideas for kids?
A friend of mine has overloaded herself with some 9 West shoeboxes and large sized coffee cans. Her children, ages 3 %26amp; 4, have recently become very interested in arts %26amp; crafts. Any crafty ideas for these lil ones to recycle the boxes %26amp; cans?? :D
Shoe box %26amp; coffee can ideas for kids?
Coffee Cans can become decorated banks when convered with construction paper, just cut a hole big enough for quarters in the lid.
Shoe boxes can be painted, colored, decorated to become trinket boxes for treasure.
Shoe boxes can also be giant shoes.
Reply:you can make themed shadow boxes like a under the sea theme with fish and they can draw inside the boxes and decorate them with construction paper and crayons, and with the coffee cans they can decorate them so they can put their small toys into or else they can make a makeshift drum out of it....
Reply:Here are some, though 3 and 4 is kind of young for many "crafts."

http://www.google.com/search?num=50%26amp;hl=e...
They could also just use them as building blocks, perhaps covering with Contact paper, felt, or whatever, first ... or maybe to color-code too.

Diane B.
Reply:mack telephones and mardi gras floats
Reply:My children used coffee cans to make their father pen holders for father's day last year for his desk.
We painted the cans white.
My daughter used fabric paint to decorate the can.
My son choose to glue strips of tissue paper to his can.
They signed and dated them.
I finalized them with a coat of varnish.
Reply:Coffe cans can be painted and made into drums. Kids ususally get a kick out of that. The shoe boxes can be for making unusal type doll houses if placed next to each other, or blocks if the lids are taped down and the outside painted or covered with stickers and the like.
Reply:Wrapping paper, construction paper, tissue, paper, paper cards, colored funny papers, magazines, child safe scissors, hole punch, odd puzzle, game pieces, finger paint,
stick glue. Parental supervision.
Boxes can be made into shadow boxes and display treasures. Children can place a background in picture to complement the treasure.
Hint: Take digital snap shots of finished treasure displays for album and/or slide show presentation {Keeps clutter down). Have a place of honor for display of one or two. "This is the official Art Honor Spot" ; a new display piece displaces the old; pass on the older ones as gifts to family/friends or have an "official "recycling ceremony with pomp and ceremony (if necessary) for the old when the new takes over the place of honor.
Idea: Child picks " things I like to do with you" and places them in box. Memories of things done with loved one and picture of them with that loved one-- a shadow box scrapbook as it were. Gift box to loved one; after mom takes a picture of course.
How about an arts and crafts, storage divider depending on how many boxes are on hand. Could even gather them together and top with solid card board top to make a table.
Will need help from adults to connect them together.
Lay end to end in layers. Punch holes to add string or paper fasteners to hold them together. Use strong tape around perimeter. Let them pick out pictures to put in back of box for what items will be put in that section--Toys, craft supplies, art supplies.
Coffee cans could be decorated to make small trash cans,
or hold parts for puzzles, games,
spare holder for toilet paper--decorate maybe even like a candle,
Use 4 or more cans for legs on low table. Use a lot and make a display table with clear plastic top.
Can use joined boxes or cans to make toss games such as
Tick tack toe, numbers, colors, ABC,
Coffee cans on their side, secured could make a good (shoe/toy) rack for kids this age.
Can also make beds for doll/soft toys.
Reply:Shoe boxes can become treasure boxes and can be decorated with anything they want from constructionpaper to pictures,paint,jewels/rhinestones,fabric... you name it
Coffee can can be turned into watering cans for flowers, flowerpots( have them with different plant seeds and label the cans so you know what comes up) and can be decorated as well with pain, fabric, pictures etc And can be turned into nice Mother's Day gifts as well

You are missing the shoe to your left foot. You are looking in a shoe box for your missing shoe. I will tell you that it is in there. You are wearing its match. Why does my feet hurt when im jogging in the boxing ring?
Is it because I have the wrong shoes because i wear regular ecko sneakers on the ring and my feet kills me..
Why does my feet hurt when im jogging in the boxing ring?
why and how are you jogging in a boxing ring?
Not sure what ecko sneakers are like but I use sambas (made by adidas) they are great shoes for boxing
Reply:shoes can help or hurt. so try to get either boxing shoes, or i really like the feel of probably the last 4 Iverson shoe styles. They are very comfortable to run in, i box a lot too, and i like these almost as much as boxing shoes themself!
Good Luck !

Where can i get free high school musical and Hannah Montana shoe boxes? Read in the Details for Why!?
i am re decorating my room in High school musical theme/Hannah Montana and i have bought some high school musical shoes / Hannah Montana for my neighbors kids. i dont want to spend anymore money so what can i do? By the way No rude Comments thats just being Ridicioulously rude about High School Musical or Hannah Montana
Where can i get free high school musical and Hannah Montana shoe boxes? Read in the Details for Why!?
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL %26amp; HANNAH MONTANA ROCK!
As for the shoebox scenario,I suggest just go to like Payless and ask a worker or the manager if they have old shoeboxes in the back that aren't torn up,or you can just get a bunch of posters of High School Musical %26amp; Hannah Montana!
Remember pick a style for your room that you are going to like for a LONG TIME!
HSM %26amp; HM ROCK!
Reply:I don't know about free, but you could make some by using some HSM or HM pictures or wrapping paper to line and cover a regular box. Or you could decorate it with pink and stars...like Hannah's stage or something.
That will be fun and it's very nice of you.

What should I get on boxing Day?
My mom and dad are giving me and my brothers $200 each and this is a big deal because this never happened to me before. Anyways I'm wondering what stuff I should get. I wanna get:
4 pairs of flats
3 pairs of shoes
4 hoodies
5 shirts
4 pairs of pants
make-up
stuff from Claires
hairdye(dark brown)
a new pencil case
a new backpack
new binders for school.
Im not sure if I will have enough money to buy all that and I know I sound spoiled but this is a first time I've ever gotton $200 so I'm excited. And where should I buy this stuff too
What should I get on boxing Day?
I think that your expectations are a little bit high; you most probably need about twice the money to get all that stuff. I don't really know what you're asking here... you can probably only get your shoes at Payless, your clothes at Walmart, and your school supplies from Office Depot or something. Sorry.

How long after a bunion and hammertoe surgery do you get back to normal. i can walk now . cast off 2 weeks .?
just want to know when i will get back to normal and be able to resume sports also work.also needto buy some wide box shoes but dont know where to purchase from wouldlove to speak 2 someone who has had this done.
How long after a bunion and hammertoe surgery do you get back to normal. i can walk now . cast off 2 weeks .?
I had this done 18 months ago. I went back to work after 12 weeks, because I do a physical job,but I could walk well before that. I have lived in casual shoes more than anything else since, but apart from stubbing my toe(doesn't bear thinking about does it?) I've been fine. So relieved about the cosmetic side too.
You do need to take it as it comes though, and not try to overdo things. You'll know when you're ready to do more. Be patient though. Good luck
Reply:i havnt had it done but you could try looking in clarks shoes they do good shoes for all feets needs. i hopr that you get back to normal soon.

How to make a castle out of empty boxes?
For an art prodject I need to make a castle out of all differnt kinds of empty boexes and container.. such as tooth paste boxes, shoe boxes, etc. Any ideas? I would like this castle to be fairly big and possible be able to walk through it.
How to make a castle out of empty boxes?
Just lots and lots of boxes. For the top of the castle....where the points go up and a big tower on the top...use the toothpaste boxes there. They are narrow and tall. Paint it gray and don't forget a chain of some sort for the moat......paint it brown like wood. :))) Sit your castle ontop of a piece of paper that is colored blue to look like water. Put a couple dollar store plastic alligaters in the water by the moat LOL Boy, i'm having fun here..........put a princess or barbie doll high up in the tower looking out. Don't forget the inside of the castle....put a few boxes stacked up to look like steps going up inside the castle. Wow! This is awesome! Have fun.... I know I am! lol
Reply:I Would Buy a Bunch (For As Big As You Want It) Of Boxes The Same Size And Start Stacking Like Blocks As High As You Want It. You Could Cut Out The Inside Pieces So You Could Walk Through, But Should Be Taped First, Also Cover In White, Grey Or Black Paper (Can Get In Big Rolls At Craft Stores Before Assembly). Search For Odd Shaped Boxes From Stores, Furniture Stores, On Side Of The Road, Etc. To Use For Windows And Doors (Cover Them In A Different Color, Blue For Windows) And Just Stack With Others. You Can Stack/Play With A Few Different Looks A Few Times Before Taping. Then Cut Out Like The Tips (Crown Like) From Cardboard And Attach To The Very Top. Boxes Can Get Expensive, So Life Size Might Not Be Affordable Unless You Get Them Free. Good Luck!
Reply:i am an artist and made like thousends of art .
and guess what its your lucky day!
all you need is like five one meters boxes and some toothpicks and straws.
now you need ducktape or like strong tape.
and if you got all those you must barrow some sissors or something sharp. now you must cut the box like this.
_l-l_l-l_l-l_l-l_ yeah like that. and then you must make cannons or something with the toothpicks and then tape all the bonust stuff you like on it and then paint it with normal paint. none!
NOTE:do not use water paint because it will look freacky and i never use water paint.

How do we make Africa cleaner and prettier too?
This is my opinion. We can clean up the water, build a water system to have clean water, have no coal plants, recycle gold, bricks, hays, paper, bottles, cans, boxes, shoes, steel, and plastic containers too. We can finally build factories to recycle these items. What do you think?
How do we make Africa cleaner and prettier too?
I think you are dreaming.
I was part of a group that was quoting a new water system for a country in western Africa. When we met with the president there he was more interested in building a TV station to broadcast tales of his glory than a water purification system. He also offered to finance the project by paying us in blood diamonds which he said we could smuggle back into our country.
Reply:good plan, but, just leave it to Oprah!
Reply:Initially I agree with answer 2 in that it's largely driven by politics. No offense; but in Africa politics and RULE are tenuous at best.
Recycling is a situation that is extremely expensive in the process. Obviously the notion is valid; but to create processing and operate such; is probably something that could take years to balance on some scale of cost versus effect and benefit. When you say "WE" whom are you speaking of? Recycling needs a Global Conciousness; but certainly can exist in Pockets, all over the globe.
Another issue is the social conciousness of a country or group of countries on any one continent. I'll give you an example in a microcosm. Unless it's dictated (and that should never become the case) I might go to great lengths to recycle from home; while my neighbor does not. That might instill some doubt in me as to the validity and possible success of the scheme.
If we stopped our dependance on; or at least curbed our dependance on Crude Oil; and profits made from it; we'd likely HAVE to do more recycling; and we've already done a huge amount of damage to our air/ water/ land; that would take years to repair, even if we stopped using crude TODAY.
No offense meant at all; but I still wonder whom you mean by "WE"? Obviously Africa is in turmoil on multiple levels; and reversal is a challenge as daunting as expecting Nigeria to one day be able to orbit the moon; but without question; IT and the rest of the planet are worth saving. We have nowhere else to go for one thing; nor the means to get anywhere.

Reply:It's nice to have people like you who would like improve the undeveloped parts of Africa.
it's a very long process that may take decades to prepare.
I think preparing for water dams, Electrical Power via wind or water current and search for local fuel supply should be first considered.
Reply:Sorry, that is too simplistic of an answer.
The problems start with politics
Most african countries that are run by dictators , that rape the countries wealth to stay in power and finance huge overseas bank accounts for if they are deposed.
Staying in power takes lots of money to buy armies and bribe, people to give timely information on enemies.
The last thing these "rulers" think about is helping the ordinary people...Until true democracy and honest polititions (if there is such an animal) can be in charge and work for the people instead of themselves, Africa will never change.
Reply:Great idea. Just two problems. Where will you get the money for this? And what will you do with the Africans? Oh, and who is this "we" you are talking about. Leave me out if you don't mind. I'm not interested.

Ive bo8ght shoes and i dnt know wat the lil packet is for wat is it for anyways
Whats the little thing "lil Bag" inside a shoe box you know that thing that says like gell or is like rocky su
There are a couple of things it could be silica gel or bat descant (Bat Poop) it is to help keep moisture out of the box so it does not grow mold and ruin your shoes. but they use it in electronics as well and many other places, Guano as they call it, or Bat poop comes from the island called EGuano where there are many bat caves where the stuff stacks up and they shovel it out with tiny shovels to fill the tiny bags. (Just kidding on that part. But that's what it is and Yep like everyone else Say's don't eat it.

First boxing match in a month. What is the required attire for a match(shirt?)what about rounds?weigh ins?
Are weigh in on the same day?I know u need mouthpiece, headgear, are shoes required?
First boxing match in a month. What is the required attire for a match(shirt?)what about rounds?weigh ins?
Shoes are required. Depending on whether or not it's a sanctioned bout, you may need to get some boxing shoes.
Ask your trainer or someone in the gym. I have fought in amatuer bouts where tennis shoes were allowed, but if you plan to continue fighting, you should invest in a proper pair
of shoes. Most sporting goods stores carry them.
I suggest that you wear baggy shorts that are easy to move around in, that have a drawstring waist so they don' fall down.
Basketball shorts will do. Wear a tanktop that is tight enough that you or your opponent will not become tangled up.
DO NOT FORGET a protective cup!
Any amatuer fight that I have ever had, the weigh in was on the same day' and the fights are usually three rounds.
Good luck, and protect yourself at all times.
Reply:Weighs ins in amuater boxing are usually taken place the day before the fight as it gives the boxers a chance to get down to required weight and have time to bulk back up. You need shoes some places insit boxing shoes, which if you dont have a pair should be a must in the long run. Most amuater bouts have the competitiors wearing tops with no sleeves. At some events boxers are made to wear opposite offists such as one in blue and other in red (this happens mainly at tournements and the olypmics) Good Luck, with the match hope this is your first win with many more to come

Uniform help !!!?
I am done looking drab and don't know what to do b/c I'm used to grabbing the boring uniform and running for the bus how can I spruce it up to look good?
I am fairly skinny tall dark ash blond, almost light brown hair, and pale skin.
The uniform is a white or black collered shirt with at least cap sleeves and no logo except ine canusually get away with the aligator or other small figure. A grey 9pleated skirt that goes from hips to past kneecaps. The school sweatshirt or an all black/white seatshirt, no symbols, or a blue or green sweater vest from Lands end that is like a large box. Shoes must be closed heel and toe and brown or black or any color athletic shoes and in winter brown or black boots are ok. max of 2 inch heel
optional
We can wear black tights or leggings (and white black or grey socks (or none at all) scarf/shawl any hair accesory (no hats) jewlery and light makeup, but my skin breaks out super easy and it is an all girls school so I don't do makeup there
Uniform help !!!?
Well for skin breaking out, just wash your face every night(to get the dirt off)and this GREATLY prevents all those icky pimples. As for your uniform.....wear black flats! Add black leggings! Since it's still pretty chilly, wear some uggs! They look super hott with a skirt, the style says unique. Btw, try rolling up your skirt a teeny-tiny bit so it makes it flare out a little giving it some style instead of just plain knee-lenght granny style lol. Wear a pink scarf! (if you can) It'll make you stand out of the crowd. Add some clips to your hair(stlye your hair into something beautiful) Wear white and/or black pearl necklaces(which are in style)....Add bangles, or charm bracelts, a ring, and some cute earrings to match! There's so much to make a plain school uniform fabulous....you just gotta think unique and glamorous! Good Luck, Hope I Helped! ♥ -sEcReT gIrL
Reply:i say you sew your skirt so its not as long, and you where long white socks,(with merry janes) - thats so like in fashion right now girl. and some eyeshadow
Reply:Accessories! I’m hoping there is no rule against flair, because I suggest bangles, big rings, bamboo doorknocker earrings, and even broaches and pins!
Check out girlprops.com! The Website has tons of amazing jewelry for under $30. Also, pair bright-colored tight or frilly ankle socks with some Mary Janes — think Alicia Silverstone in Clueless.
Don’t forget a great tote! Try something with a different texture, like studded or plaid!
Reply:Hello there!
Why don't you try on some suspenders?
Wear them up or wear them down- they look kool either way!
or maybe you could change you hair color or somthing?

I need help organizing my closet asap!?
hi i need help with my closet asap. i wanna get it done by new years, and i wont have much time tomorrow. its filled with books, clothes, bags, uniforms, boxes, shoes etc. its a 5.5x6 foot closet. one wall has a shelf up high that i cant really reach and the other shelf is closer down. the other wall has a shelf thats kind of in the middle.
heres what it looks like when you first walk in: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=8fl8msk%26amp;...
i know: scary.
heres one side (two shelves):

heres the other (one shelf):
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6lv5zwh%26amp;...
other:
i have two wall hanging things like for shoes or accessories and i also have 2 metal bins and 5 wicker ones.
I need help organizing my closet asap!?
You have a great closet with lots of room! It appears to be relatively empty, except for what is on the floor. My suggestion would be to hang all the clothes that you have on the floor. Place the clear boxes onto the shelves and label them. Get rid of the bottles and "especially the candle". Please don't keep that it there. You may forget about it and some of your items could be flammable. If you need a scent, add some cedar chips or fill some cheese cloth with lavender. It frightens me to see that candle there.
Sort out what you don't want, label everything, and place a two step stool in there so that you can reach your higher items. Only put things higher up that you don't use frequently. It should take you no more than 1 or 2 hours. You can do it! Put on some energizing music because no one likes to clean their closet. How about Mariah Carey's "Conga? Feel the beat? Thanks for reminding me and motivating me.
I love your hounds tooth robe by the way. :-) Great sense of style. Happy New Year!
Reply:well go through all your cloths and pick out the ones you cant not wear or don't want and give them to good will. Why not put all your shoes in a shoe wrack or bin.Take all your books and put on your shelf,Go through those also and give away the ones you can't wear or don't want.

Cat problems! Help?
My wife and I adopted a wonderful cat from a rescue society. His name is Truman and is a wonderful pet. He only sleeps on his back, likes to play in water and is very affectionate. We love him to death!
We've had him for 2 1/2 months now and some problems are starting to arise. Despite using Bitter Apple and Bitter Yuck, he eats the plants. We even used a hot pepper spray and he STILL eats the plants. Not only that, he is digging and eating the dirt the plants are growing in, despite more spray and slices of habanero pepper.
To top it all off, he has started to chew on cords and cables all over the house, the lamp shades, boxes, shoes and anything else he can get his mouth on.
And before you ask, NO, HE IS NOT TEETHING!
This cannot continue. We cannot go around the house every morning and evening unplugging and putting away all electronics, shoes, plants, boxes and everything else.
Any suggestions on what we can do? We love him and do not want to return him to the society!
Cat problems! Help?
I take it that dental problems of any kind have been eliminated by a vet?
Is he an indoor only cat? It sounds as though he might be bored, and in his search for something to amuse himself, he is inadvertently getting into mischief.
For the chewing problem, there are a few things that you can try to break the habit;
* I know this may not be easy, but wherever possible you need to deny him any access to those items that she's chewing. Buy some trunking to cover cables and electrical wires.
* The items that you cannot store away, put eucalyptus or menthol oil on them. Cats hate the smell. You can also leave "bait" pieces of cable or an old shoe on which a few drops of menthol or oil of eucalyptus have been rubbed, this deterrent will often reform the most ardent chewers. Sometimes denial for a couple of weeks causes the behaviour to stop.
* Shouting at the cat or squirting water at him when you catch him in the act, isn't advised as you may just find he resorts to chewing these items in secret or when you are not there. Instead use a favourite toy or food treat to distract him and focus his attention elsewhere.
* If it's the chewing sensation that he enjoys, then try providing him with tough chunks of meat to eat. This means he will have to spend more time focused on eating his meal.
Cats like digging in soft soil. Place small pebbles or stones over the soil and he won't be able to access it any more. Cats need to eat grass from time to time for health reasons (stomach ache etc), so providing him with his own pot of cat grass may keep him off your others.
If he is an indoor only cat, would you consider allowing him outside for brief periods, either under your supervision or on a harness? If he were allowed outside this will further his level of mental stimulation and will reduce the importance of home for activity. Make sure you set aside time each day strictly for playing games with him so as to focus his attention on things other than chewing. There is a theory that for some cats, an early interest in playing with cables or string has developed into predatory handling, the end sequence of which is to consume the prey. (Some cats make the mental leap straight from stalking to consumption). Try interactive toys, such as those that dangle off the end of a wandstick as they will keep him physically and mentally fit. They're ideal toys for playing the hunting games that cats really enjoy like chasing and leaping up high. If you and your wife are away from the home a lot due to work or other commitments, you might want to consider adopting a companion cat as a play mate for him. The web site below will give you advice on how to introduce the two of them.
http://www.tulsa-animalshelter.org/tips/...
There is a condition known as Pica (craving for non-edible items) which is most commonly experienced by pregnant women, but cats can suffer from this too. Keep an eye on your cat to ensure that he doesn't progress from simply chewing to actually eating household items. The web article below gives further information on this subject.

Every time you see him tearing something up, just pick him up and put him on one of these kitty towers. He'll understand that this thing is HIS and he will be a lot less bored.
Reply:Buy a cat kennel and put him in it when you are not able to keep him supervised...ex: at night, when ya'll leave the house etc..etc. He will get used to it and ya'll can be worry free when he is in the kennel.. Good luck!!
Reply:First, you can start out by moving your plants to a place where he has no access to them. Then go to the pet store and buy him treats. Or this might sound weird but maybe you can get him a few dog toys that he can chew on. Try looking at some of this stuff: http://www.petsmart.com/global/search/se...
Good luck!
Reply:Cats need other food in their system other than just cat food all the time, and often cats will eat plants and grass to assist with their digestion and keep their teeth sharp (teething has nothing to do with it, animals need to chew on things all the time to keep their teeth healthy). So, as much as you are trying to stop your cat from doing it, likely his body is screaming out for it and he needs something. What you can do is get a plant that grows quickly like an ivy where it doesn't really matter if he chews on it, the plant will always look nice. Go to pet stores and they also make products like pet grass (basically a non-impressive chiapet), that the cat can munch on. When I'm in a bind and can tell my cats are eating weird things (like they love to chew on plastic bags and do chew on wires, drives me nuts), I put out cat grass or even some of my guinea pigs hey cause at least it's edible.
Other reasons cats chew things they shouldn't: cause they know it gets your attention. Cause they don't have enough toys to chew on and play with. I am constantly buying cat toys cause my cats just go through them, or sometimes they are chewing on wires because they can't find their toys or they got trapped.
If you want to have cats and pets in your life, then there are other things you'll have to give up. I own very few candles and plants for this specific reason. How you find your sanity sometimes is set up non-cat zones: rooms closed where the cats are not allowed or only allowed when you are home. In my home, this includes the room where I have my guinea pig and our bathrooms, and our family room.
So, choose. Cat or plants.
Reply:are you sure its a cat?
Reply:Clove oil works miracles! Instead of bitter apple, use clove oil.
Also, when he does that, tell him no and put him somewhere else to play.
Finally, my advice to you is to be patient. Cats up to a year of age are very energetic and naughty. After that, especially if neutered, the begin to be calmer and just lay around, instead of biting things.
Oh, and you can put a platsic wire mesh around the plants and/or on the soil of the plants.
Please keep the cat! He sounds adorable, and frankly these little cute mishaps are not so bad to rejext a cat. A cat is a responsibility for better and for worse, it's not an item you purchase and take it back if it is "defective". Plus, as i said, you can't find a cat who has no bad habits at all!
Oh, and have a look at the aspca.com list of poisonous plants, many of teh plants we have at home are toxic to cats, maybe you should get rid of some plants if he doesn't stop eating them.
Reply:US A SPRAY BOTTLE WITH A STREAM SETTING THEY GET THE HINT AFTER A COUPLE OF TIMES
Reply:Have you tried squirting him in the face with a water bottle when you catch him in the act? We used this method to keep our cats from scratching the furniture and from fighting with our dog. It only took a few times.
As far as the plants, you may need to put them up. One of our cats does the same thing, if we do have plants, we put them up on places he can't jump, other than that, we keep them out of the house.
Reply:Try getting him some of those "kitty greens" that he CAN chew on.. and get him toys and stuff he can chew on.. things that are oki for him. sounds like you've got one bored, attention-seeking cat. Whenever we got a cat, we'd get them in pairs.. to keep each other company. It always seemed to work. We had Tilly and Baby, Minnie and Pearl, etc. Also go to your local library, see if they have Cat Fancy or another cat magazine, and look in back issues, they often have Q's and A's about cat behavior in there. Hope this helps.
Reply:you've already said that the pepper spray does'nt work and all i can say is to go further. everytime you catch him chewing something show him what he has done ( as in put it up to his face.) and soak him in water. make sure to do this every single time you catch him in the act. Yes it will take a long time but I assure you if he doesn't like water he will not enjoy being soaked. I understand you love your cat and don't want to return him so continue doing this repetitively and hopefully he will get through this stage without causing you and your wife more trouble.
Hope this helps!

Where can I get shoe boxes to store math supplies at school? Not plastic; they cost too much.?
I don't want to ask parents as I want them before school starts. Teachers already ask parents to buy too much stuff. I am not going to buy 10 pair of shoes. Shoe stores won't give them away- I've tried. Any ideas?
Where can I get shoe boxes to store math supplies at school? Not plastic; they cost too much.?
Do you have a Cato clothing store in your area? I was just there yesterday and they were getting in a shippment of shoes. They put their shoes out on a rack and throw the boxes away. I'm sure they would give you what they had if you told them it was for a school. Good luck. Also maybe try a Doller General/Family Dollar type of store. Sometimes they sell the plastic ones in packs of 3 for $2.
Reply:Even going to a dollar store and paying a dollar is too much? Wal Mart sells these type boxes for even less than a dollar. Plastic. Long lasting. Great for storage and stacking. Space saving in your classroom, too. Otherwise you can spend a lot and time and gas driving around trying to get your donations from shoe stores I suppose. How do you want to make the best use of your few days of summer left before teaching?
Reply:Well, most parents buy their kids new shoes for school, so if you wait, you could get some from parents. Have you tried asking employees at walmart? My local walmart has been very supportive of needs for my classroom.

Do you think they should stop making cardboard boxes other than for shipping?
I was watching a recycling program and I started thinking why do we need shoe boxes, toy toxes, candy boxes, hat boxes, boxes in boxes for bulk food boxing and so many other types of boxes. Don't you think that would save more trees and cause less trash? Tell me what you think and would you buy shoes, gum, candy, etc. without a box?
Do you think they should stop making cardboard boxes other than for shipping?
all good answers above but heres a good thing to think about- senerio----
you own a logging company to produce products such as paper and cardboard. you own 500,000 acres of trees. you cut down mature trees of 100,000 acres of trees. this profit you make from them lasts 15 years. it takes 15 years for a tree to grow before you cut them for your product. what do you do to keep your company going? PLANT MORE TREES!!!. to many people think that if you cut down a tree, you can't plant another tree. wood is a renewable resourse and logging companies know what there doing. keep cardboard. it's great!
Reply:Less packaging is a great way to go. Unfortunately packaging is necessary in many instances - it allows items to be protected during shipping and to be stacked either for shipping or for inventory. It is over used in some cases just for the advertising of the contents (especially in children's toys).
The compromise is to use as little as possible - use post consumer recycled waste to make the packaging boxes - and make sure to recycle it when done with it.
Reply:What makes you think that products would be packaged in boxes if there weren't a need for it? Manufactureers are in business to make as much money as possible, not waste it on useless packaging.
Cardboard and corrugated board protect the product from physical damage, contamination, spoilage, pilferage -- all sorts of things. Not too shabby for a product that uses very little virgin fibre and can be reused or recycled.
Reply:Well, I think that they should recycle the boxes and use other materials too to help make up the boxes (such as paper, for example) so that way less waste goes into landfills. And I would definitely buy shoes, gum, candy, and so on without a box. I mean, I have before, so I wouldn't mind doing it again.
But if people were using them to move....well, I think that they should still use recycled and recycable boxes.
Reply:Definitely not...!
1. they are made of natural products, wood and recycled paper.
2. They will disintegrate within a very short time, unlike plastics which can take up to 300 years or more in some instances.
So let's do away with Plastics instead......!
Paper bags instead of cardboard boxes would also help.
Thanks for CARING...

Reply:no!! what will people use to move to a different house
peole will need to use cardboard boxes for different things other than shopping
Reply:No, they should make a lot more.
