Have you ever tried to put yourself in someone else's shoes?

Have you ever tried to "wear someone's skin" so-to-speak? (spare the Hannibal Lecter jokes, y'all)

I'm being serious. Before you go ranting and raving and bashing on someone, reporting their questions, clicking fityleven times to thumbs down their answer (btw, once works just fine) WHATEVER THEIR FAITH OR LACK OF, try to see things through their eyes, like a grown up.

sorry. that's my soap box sermon for the day. R-E-S-P-E-C-T, people.

Have you ever tried to put yourself in someone else's shoes?
Actually, it was Leatherface did the whole "wearing other people's skins" bit...

And not all opinions are worthy of respect.
Reply:I stand by my original statement -- you wouldn't respect the opinion of someone who thought he should be able to have sex with an eight-year-old, or that such relationships were healthy, would you? Report It

Reply:Things would be a whole lot nicer if people actually tried your advice - christian or non christian
Reply:I have tried "wearing" another person. That is what I call it. It is very helpful when you need to make an important decision in your life - to see the situation from a perspective other than your own. This practice also helps in gaining emotional distance, and in testing your motives. When you are free of your ego, it is easier to have unconditional love for other beings. I find this exercise is also good when I find I am judging someone - not a thing that makes me feel good about myself. I prefer that I model a "live and let live" approach. The golden rule is ever-true and timeless. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...
Reply:yes constantly and I understand their view points for the most part.
Reply:I'd rather not know what having stinky feet is like.

--So-to-speak.
Reply:Lets be honest, we all say that we do but in the end we still judge and look down on other people. I am one of the most open and tolerate people I know and I still do it.
Reply:I did, than he called the police and I was charged with theft
Reply:Ewww, I hate rental bowling shoes.
Reply:MAY HAVE AT ONE TIME BUT NOT NO MORE I HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS WITH THE SHOES I WALK IN WITHOUT TRYING SOMEONES ELSE'S
