All items need to fit in a shoe box Together
Help!,I need 10 items that relate to the book Scorpions by Walter Dean Myers, they have to fit in a shoe box?
I haven't read this book yet, though I have a copy. I did, however, look on Amazon.com to see what the book was about and feel I could come up with at least some of the items you might include.
Thing is, be careful. Seriously. I don't know what your school's policy might be, but since this book has much to do with gangs and all that entails, I'd think you'd include some weopons and/or drug props - but due to safety, bringing a "toy" gun to school could be a problem.
Gang symbol? Probably want something to represent his brother, jail and lack of money. What about something to show all the different things pulling on Jamal? Maybe a coin you have to flip to make the decision about joining or not joining? A rubberband? Yes, I'm thinking metaphorically.
How can you "show" the setting? Can you create a fake mugshot? Something to represent the "system" his brother is part of?
Without reading it, I know I'm not the best help. I checked out some of the 146 reviews on Amazon to get an idea about the story and characters. I've liked other titles by this author, so perhaps this is my cue to read on.

Third grade question - What is the best insulation to reduce melting of ice cube in a shoe box?
You need to insulate a shoe box with any material that would keep the ice cubes inside from melting.
Third grade question - What is the best insulation to reduce melting of ice cube in a shoe box?
Wrap the ice cube in tinfoil, shiny side out. That will eliminate heating from radiant (infrared) energy entirely, and slow down the melting rate substantially. The other method of heat transfer is convection, where warm objects in the environment transfer heat through direct contact. To resolve that, build a little box out of styrofoam that will tightly enclose the foil-wrapped ice cube. The styrofoam should be half an inch thick or thicker.
With these two methods your ice cube should last significantly longer.
The last option is ice itself! If the objective is simply to prevent that PARTICULAR ice cube from melting, then surrounding it with a great big block of ice will be the best protection you can get. The big outside block will slowly melt, but the inside one will stay completely frozen. By wrapping the big block in foil and styrofoam, you could improve it even more.
But I suspect using ice would be considered cheating.

Can you tell me an easy way to pack alot of shoes in a suitcase without them getting broken??
Im moving overseas and cannot part with my shoe collection. I have some high stilletto's and dont want them to break while in my suitcase. Can you tell me the best way to pack them all in one suitcase without putting them in boxes?
Can you tell me an easy way to pack alot of shoes in a suitcase without them getting broken??
stuff socks and things in the and warp and pad them with things like t-shirts; and use a suitcanse that has a hard outer shell
GOOD LUCK
Reply:you can ask Imelda Marcus
Reply:One good way to do it is: wrapping around each one of shoes a towel, bath towel if possible, and then put all them neatly pack on a suitcase. Try to make them fit without leaving any space (if you have to put extra towels in the corners of the suitcase as a buffer from hits).
This normally works for me in long trips.
Hope it helps.

My cat peed on my moms coat and peed and defecated in my shoe box, why?
She is female and spayed. Why is she doing these things? We took her to the vet and she is utd on shots. Did she think my shoe box with the liter box?? I don't understand why she would think that.
My cat peed on my moms coat and peed and defecated in my shoe box, why?
She does it to annoy you, she thinks it's funny.
So do I.
Reply:The first thing I would do is have the cat checked by a Vet. Inappropriate elimination is usually caused by stress and this can be due to a health issue or can be an environmental issue. So the first step is always to rule out health problems. My own cat recently had this problem and after checking him out we discovered a cat fight abscess. This was causing him to feel stressed and unwell and the result was weeing and pooing in strange places.
If the cat gets the all clear from the vet then you need to consider if there have been any changes to your cat's environment that might be causing her stress. Such as a new pet or person in the house. A change to the house. Or it may be something you aren't even aware of such as a new cat in the neighbourhood.
If it is stress rather than a health issue then you should speak to your Vet about managing the problem. The cat may need medication initially to help it relax and there are other things such as Feliway which you can use in the environment that release pheromones which can help your cat feel calmer.
Good luck.
Reply:Sounds like she doesn't like her box.
Make sure it is being cleaned at least once daily.
It should not be in a high-traffic location - some cats get stage fright.
Most cats prefer fine-grained litter.
If you have more than one cat, you need one box per cat, plus one.
Urinary tract infections always come up when cats start urinating where they shouldn't. However, they usually choose to urinate on something cold, and in small amount. It would not hurt to check. If your household is changing, she may just feel uncomfortable - if you're moving, or someone is moving in or out. That could just take some time to get used to, but I'd look in to your box first.
Increased eating/drinking will cause increased excretion - if you notice a change in her diet or drinking, it may be worth a trip to the vet.
Reply:She could be stressed out, cats usually go to the bathroom in other places that their little box when they are stressed or angry. Make sure you clean all the smell off wherever she eliminates and spray it with something that is safe for cats and that smells like a citrus fruit (cats hate the smell). If the smell isn't removed she will just use it again because cats like to go in the same place over and over.
She may not know where her litter box is because cats locate their litter box by scent.. put of her feces in the litter box underneath the litter and put her in the litter box and grab her paws and make a digging motion in the litter.
If she is a kitten: my 8 week old kitten wouldn't use her litter box because the pellets were too large.. and they hurt her feet (kind of like walking on a rocky beach), so if you are using litter with large pellets, you should probably change to a more sandy kind.
Reply:How old is she? If she is young (less than two years) she may not be properly trained as to litter box ettiquete. If she is an older cat she may have a urinary tract issue and can't make it to the litter box. If the latter make an appointment at the vets because an antibiotic might be needed.
Reply:Ok, she's either VERY angry at you (did you lock her out for an extended period of time/refuse attention) or you've been moving her litterbox around and she's confused! My cat went through the same thing a few times, both from giving her baths and moving her litterbox. Good luck with breaking this habit!^^
Reply:I changed kitty litter once and the cat didn't like it for some reason -- he's NEVER done that before -- only when I made the kitty litter change --- do you have a new (I mean different brand) kitty litter? She may not like it. I never used it again and he stopped doing that......
Reply:Looks like your cat is pissed off at you. Cats show such behavior when they are protesting. Can happen when you leave them for a period of time and feel neglected by you. Maybe when you held it when it got its shots at the vet's. Can be a number of reasons.
Reply:Sounds like she is upset - possibly needing attention. My ferret used to do mean stuff whenever we went away and left her at a pet sitters house. As soon as we picked her up it seemed like she was mad at us for a few days.
Reply:Welll.... Lets see? Cause shes a friggin cat, an animal, duh!!!

A zoo?
A shop? Like a hairdressers or something, then she can cut out magazine pictures on stick them in there.
Maybe one of the 7 Wonders of the World? Like the pyramids!
A school? Do a small model of what her own school is like!
A playground
Beach
Reply:maybe some kind of setting like make a window then have like a prairie or a jungle in the back round, maybe a desert also
Reply:just make it of a summer day

I'm moving back to live with my mam into a tiny shoe box room thats undecorated and has no storage..any1 help?
Im having to move back home to live with my mam but the bedroom that im going to be in a tiny room!! its about the width of a double bed (becuse there is a single bed in there already and it takes up half the width of the room) and the length of a standard bed....it's literally a box.
I have no idea what on earth to do with the room lol and ive got loads of stuff to come back. I've already got rid of loads of stuff that i don't really need lol.
Its undecorated with no wallpaper, no carpet and no type of storage apart from a little corner desk which is about 30cm wide.
Has anyone got any ideas of colour schemes or ideas for storage because because the room is already full with a single bed and little corner desk....hhhmm here i come shoe box room! lol
Thanks for any suggestions :-) x x x

Depending on the bed, put them on risers. This will give you storage space under the bed. Paint the room a light color, including the ceiling. This will open up the area and make it seem larger. Lots of shelving to store things in will help. Utilize as much wall space as you can. If there is a window, I suggest a blind and a valance or swag topper. You don't want to weigh the room down with a heavy curtain. Find other places in your home to store things that you don't use very often. Good luck

Can you leave a baby kingsnake in a shoe box with holes?
Say, you didn't have an enclosure - could you put a tshirt/rock/water bowl in a moderately sized shoe box with holes and use that as a temporary enclosure for a while? The heating is fine, but what about the light; how does it know when its day if it doesn't get any light?
Can you leave a baby kingsnake in a shoe box with holes?
If by shoe box you mean a plastic tub of the size reffered to as shoe box, then yes, absolutely. As a breeder, I would actually recommend a sterilite shoe box over a tank of any kind until the snake is bigger and older. Baby kings, just like baby corns are tiny and very good at escaping. Probably the most often occuring problem among new corn/king owners is that their babies escape, and at that size, you'd need a miracle to find it.
So if you don't already have one, run to the dollar store or Walmart or Meijer and pick up a sterilite shoe box for $1 and line it with paper towel. Keep your new friend in this set up until he's about 2ft long, or until you feel confident that he's big enough to be seen should he get out of a tank.
Good luck!
Reply:48L is not too big, and will actually work for the life of the snake. That's what my 5ft chocolate Cal King is in.
Angel Report It
Reply:if you don't have an enclosure ready for the snake, you can go to the nearest dollar store and buy a plastic rubbermaid sweater box or storage box for like 3-5 bucks, they will have clear-ish sides and a solid colored lid, take a nail and hold it with pliers, then heat the nail with a lighter and punch a lot of holes in the top of the lid.
Reply:You could buy a little critter keeper at a pet store and put it in there. I'd be worried about the snake escaping fom the shoe box. They are good escape artists.

Can i make a 'playhouse' out of a shoe box for my gerbils?
Its a Avia shoe box. It has color on the outside but they would be in the inside of it. Is it a good idea or not?
Can i make a 'playhouse' out of a shoe box for my gerbils?
Sure, its okay! I have put my hamsters in all kinds of wacky boxes and one time, I even filled up a box with loads of bedding (I got in trouble for that) and the hamsters enoyed digging down! Becareful, your bedding might be gone in seconds if you do what I did...
Reply:You can but would have to throw it out in a couple of days because cardboard is porous and it will get full of bacteria. As long as you keep changing it it's ok but they do sell little igloos and others made out of plastic, these just need a good cleaning every couple days.
Reply:Yes, they would like that rodent are very curious. You can use a lot of differet things for them to chew on. If they start chewing on the colored cardboard take it away.
Reply:I think them lil' suckers will eat it. Yes sir.
Reply:You could try it, but make sure your gerbils actually don't start to actually chew the shoebox to shreds. Try and take the color off the outside because this can be harmfull to Gerbils.. If your Gerbil starts actually nipping the shoebox, and biting it, take it out immediately - you don't want your Gerbil to start_eating it.. bad idea.
Reply:They'll chew it up in no time, but that'll be great fun for them. Just be carefully that there isn't one of those sachets of sillica gel hanging around; deadly toxic.
Reply:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
THEY WILL EAT IT AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS CARDBOARD!!!!!!!
Reply:Yeah-that's fine. The colour won't hurt them. They will eventually eat the box though and pee through it.
Reply:Oh yea they will like that
Reply:yes that's fine, im sure they will love it! they love anything cardboard, lol!
p.s.- do not give them plastic like the person above said. rodents chew plastic just like cardboard, but they can choke on plastic and they can't digest it. if you do buy them plastic, take it out as soon as they start chewing on it.

My cat likes to sleep in bags and shoe boxes...why?
Our cat soso loves to sleep inside of shoe boxes...even when she doesn't fit....Is there a reason why she would like to do this?
My cat likes to sleep in bags and shoe boxes...why?
I think it keeps them warm to be all snuggled up... cats are crazy! My cat used to do weird things like that all the time, he used to like hiding in small spaces so he'd get some peace %26amp; quiet while he napped lol I've also noticed that if you put a newspaper on the floor or table you can guarantee your cat will come and sit on it. Especially if you're reading it %26amp; it's dinner time. lol.
Reply:it allows them 2 b warm, and it might feel safe
Reply:Most cats love doing it.
When my cat was a kitten, he used to sleep in this one pale pink pot all the time. But alas, he kept growing and one day, he tried jumping in, and he no longer fit. He also used to sleep in plastic bags. Nowadays, he'll sometimes climb into tight containers.
Reply:The reason why she does that is because.....she's a cat!
Cats are notorious for loving small, closed in places. My cats do it too, even though it looks very uncomfortable. But hey, they are happy, why not?
I don't think there is any 'normal' behavior when it comes to cats!
Reply:It makes them feel safe.
Reply:Have owned cats a long time and know how they enjoy paper bags, the noise factor and the comfort of being hidden, to pounce on anyone coming by.
Cats enjoy boxes for much the same reason but also seem to like being confined. Makes them feel secure. We always keep thick cardboard boxes around for them to lounge in and they also chew the flaps.
Reply:so does mine i think she feels safe
Reply:My cats do the same thing. I think they just like to be warm. But it's funny because they also like to sleep on top of things. Like really wierd things. If there is a piece of paper on the floor they must sleep on top of it. Or an article of clothing or anything that may seem uncomfortable. But for some reason cats love it...
Reply:Cats love the feeling of being enclosed and safe. I have never really understood this myself, but it is something that all cats seem to do. The bigger the cat, the smaller the box. My cat has grown quite a bit, but still goes right into my shoe boxes. She also has her own bowls in the living room that she has claimed as her own since she moved in. They just seem to make her seem safe and comfortable.
As far as bags go, I think she tries to hide in them. She puts her head and half her body in them, the tail usually sticks out. It's as if she can't see me, so I can't see her. Not the brightest animal in the world. Always surprised when I find her so easily. But, she's so beautiful, who needs brains.

But the card companies have to have a certificate of authenticity.

I do Operation Christmas Child...ware can I get some shoe boxes?
I like this program and I have done it before. I want to do atleast 5 shoe boxes this year...ware can I get some shoe boxes? I currently dont have ANY
I do Operation Christmas Child...ware can I get some shoe boxes?
I also do the Operation Christmas Child program. One thing we have been told over the years is to get the plastic shoe boxes. They usually cost about a buck. The plastic ones are easier to ship and the children and keep their things in them with outh the worry of a paper box tearing or falling apart.
Walmart, Target, and dollar stores carry this size plastic box.
Reply:i dotn know where you are but try Payless shoes, i know they wont give you a box with purchase if you dont want one. find out what they do with those if a customer doesnt take it.
Reply:I have gotten them from Pay Less shoes in past years. But, I'm kind of liking this plastic box idea. Are they really OK to use? I am going to try it. I know that the $ store has some that are the exact right size. Hope you find what you need......it really is a great cause. God Bless!
Reply:Go to a shoe store and ask if they have any extras they can donate to you. Or, ask your friends if they have any shoe boxes lying around. They're not really hard to find.
Reply:Maybe you should ask family members for an extra or even a friend. I know personally I have lots..
Reply:Safeway gives out actual Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, but they're kind of small, so usually we just use shoeboxes we accumulate over they year from buying shoes.
Reply:When I do Operation Christmas Child too. Something I do is get a plastic box at Dollar General, or a store like that, the size of a shoe box. It is more durable, and the children can use it over and over again! The boxes are fairly cheap too, depending on where they get them.
Hope that helps!

or u can use a different box- it doesnt need to be a shoebox, just a box that is around the same size.

Reply:er..... i dn't know, but you could probably make a draw with it. Stick the shoe boxes in a cardboard box?
Reply:decorate them so when its x-mas time.....u can use them. or any holiday...
Reply:My wife is a Chinese shoe fanatic. We are not allowed past the 3' X4' foyer with our shoes on. What to do with the shoes? Take shoe boxes, remove cover, cut off 1 end, glue cover back on, cover all surfaces that will be exposed with something decorative(your choice, shelf paper, wall paper, etc.), finally stack them the way you like gluing them together. For my wife I needed a LOT of shoe boxes but it helps keep the place neat. For some reason young girls love these and they put their shoes away. Put them in a closet or whatever.
Reply:Give them to a local school's art dept..They always have need for things like that.
Reply:You can cover them with wallpaper, or wrapping paper and use them as decorative storage space. It sure beats the typical "junk drawer".
Reply:some creative ideas:
- with those boxes you could cover them with fabric/paper and design your own photo box.
- decorate the box and use it as a gift box.
- make picture frames. just use a ruler, measure, cut pain/cover with fabric paper ect.
hope this helped a bit
Reply:cut them apart and make a shoe-box robot!!!
Reply:make a home made doll house. if u want lol. i use my shoe boxes as storage, sometimes decorate them by putting qoutes and song lyrics. cool.

Nike Air Force One's Can Tell if FAKE from Shoe Box?
I recently bought some Air Force One's and the shoe box has Air Force XXV on the top. It's a black box, but the information with the size, ect, only says White for the color. The shoe is the 25 anniversary edition white/white mid tops.
I was under the impression, it was supposed to say White/White. Anyone else have the same kind of box?

What can i make from this shoe box?
I want to make a little craft for my dad on valentines day. I want to put a scene in a shoe box, but i don't know what. any ideas??
What can i make from this shoe box?
many things
- make you and your dad walking down a love road holding hands
- make a collage with all the things you love about your dad
-make you as a little child growing up with your dad
i hope your dad will like it!
Reply:What about painting the inside of the box then using small sharp tipped scissors to cut out pictures of the two of you so you are standing up in the box? Or try creating a collage/memory box. Cut out pictures and words from magazines etc to create a little collection of memories.
Reply:You know what he likes to do the best or what he has done that he is proud of. Make it into a picture. If he is into fishing put blue paper on the bottom of the box to look like water and put something in it to look like a boat with a picture of him in it and a fishing pole make out of a tooth pick and a huge fish at the end of the line. If this does not suit his hobbies let me know and I will try to think up something on the theme you have and you can go from there. Check my avatar and e-mail me. Oh by the way get some kind of tissue paper to put over the box to compliment your theme.

Can someone tell me the purpose of churches sending shoe boxes over seas ?
For the past five years some of the churches in my home town send shoe boxes to under privledged children over seas. I some what understand this but I have a huge problem with it when there are children in this country who are needy also. Shouldn't we take care of our own children before helping others? I don't know about every where else, but here in the county I live in there are an awful lot of precious little ones that have nothing for Christmas and this seems unfair to me. My husband and I were both raised in church and had parents that taught us why christians celebrate Christmas. They also taught us to respect others beliefs and we do. But shouldn't charity start at home? I really hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. If I am, I am very sorry. I would just really like to hear other opinions on this subject.
For anyone who doesn't know, the shoe boxes are filled with small toys and toiletries.
Can someone tell me the purpose of churches sending shoe boxes over seas ?
the reason children are underprivileged overseas is because we americans have exploited the rest of the worlds resources. giving shoeboxes full of toys is a pretty pathetic gesture to a starving child. the child is starving because we took all of his countrys potatoes to make our hash browns at dennys. maybe we should stop being such greedy imperialists and not rape the world for our own gain. as far as the underprivileged children in america, we have programs like food stamps and afdc to help them. its not my problem if their parents traded all of their food stamps for crack.

Reply:there are many many charities here at home that help our underpriveleged. i believe that in the other countries they do not have the resources which is why we offer the outreach. personally i donate primarily to one of my local shelters as well as an overseas organization. it too me a while to grasp the concept becuase i too thought the same thing. i firmly believe that charity does begin at home and i wish some of the celebrities would understand that - it pains me to see adoptions from forgein countries where there are so many children here needing homes too!

when i first heard of the shoebox sharity, i do wish they have something similar in singapore too.
my thinking is that because they are an organisation, people know the "what to do". our efforts is minimal (get the shoebox, fill it up and send it off). there will be people to take care of logistics and other stuff.
it can be too much effort if it is being done on a personal scale (i am not saying it is impossible, but it does require more effort and times to reach out to the less privileged).

What to do with a shoe box?
I have this shoe box, and i need something to do with it. Any suggestions. The more complicated, the better.
What to do with a shoe box?
use it to make a diorama like we used to in school make a scale replica of the outside of your home including landscaping, driveway and your car If this is not complicated enough for you why not try returning it to the store for credit I am sure that will complicate things
Reply:use it for a cheap filing system container/or place your odds an ends in it
Reply:i think you could cover it with nice fabric and use it for storage like for magazines (xxx) so no one iwll see them ;)
Reply:You can line it with a nice satin or silk fabric using zig-zag (pinking shears) to cut the edges so it doesn't fray, or use "fray-check" which you can get at the craft or fabric store. Then attach with fabric glue, do the sides first so the bottom piece will cover the edges of the 4 sides. Then choose a fabric that will match your room decor, where you will use it later, and cover the exterior with the same technique. You may want to put a little batting, can purchase at fabric store, on the top just so it doesn't look so much like a shoe box, then use it to store the remotes for all the gadgets that come with stereo. tivo, dvd player, vcr player, tv....etc.... Or you can use it to store other gadgets in any other place you may need it, or you can now use it as a "prewrapped" gift box the next time you need one.
Reply:You should throw the shoe box in the garbage.
Reply:I usually cover them with fabric or deco page with a scene that relates to what I am going to put in it that way I know at a glance where something I have put away is. They are great for storing photos, old greeting cards, stationary, tax receipts, store receipts, warranty's, etc. you get the idea.....

How do I make a wooden jewelry or shoe box?
I was wondering how I can make a wooden jewelry box. I wont have access to any machines or anything like that, Im plannin on getting the materials just at my local home depot. A list of materials would also come in handy, if anyone can add suggestions. I want the box to be about the size of a regular shoe box, and nothing fancy, just a box with a lid that opens up, used for storage of keepsakes that include photos, letters, etc. I also plan on engraving something in the front, maybe with a knife, any suggestions to this would also be appreciated.
How do I make a wooden jewelry or shoe box?
ok this is what you need to do:
1. decide what kind of wood do you want to use.
pine would be the cheepest way to go, oak would cost a little more but the finnished product will look ALOT better.
in ether case you will need a Few Basic tools :
1. a miter box (the cheep hand type will do)
2. a hammer
3. some finnish nails
4. wood glue (i like that gorilla glue) any type is fine
5. 2 or 3 small brass hinges
6. 1x8x8 pine or oak board
to build a 12x8x8 box you will need to:
1. cut 4 peces of the borad at 12"
2. cut 2 peces at 8"
3. glue and nail 2 of the 12" peces and the 2 8" peces together to form a rectangle
4. glue and nail 1 of the 12" boards to the back side of the box
5. now nail the hinges on the front side so they open out and nail the other side of the hinges to the other 12" board Thus making a door.
you can paint it or stain it and put a lock on it!
now i Know this is not prefict but using basic tools it will do the job.
if you want you could miter all the corners at 45o but this wont be easy with a havd saw.
hope this helps!
Reply:try a hobby shop, they have plain boxes that you can paint or decorate or actually maybe just glue a veneer on to.

5. 2 or 3 small brass hinges
6. 1x8x8 pine or oak board
to build a 12x8x8 box you will need to:
1. cut 4 peces of the borad at 12"
2. cut 2 peces at 8"
3. glue and nail 2 of the 12" peces and the 2 8" peces together to form a rectangle
4. glue and nail 1 of the 12" boards to the back side of the box
5. now nail the hinges on the front side so they open out and nail the other side of the hinges to the other 12" board Thus making a door.
you can paint it or stain it and put a lock on it!
now i Know this is not prefict but using basic tools it will do the job.
if you want you could miter all the corners at 45o but this wont be easy with a havd saw.
hope this helps!
Reply:try a hobby shop, they have plain boxes that you can paint or decorate or actually maybe just glue a veneer on to.

Hide snake in a shoe box .will it be found?
Going to france by bus.Hide my snake in a shoe box with some hand luggage. Will that be checked? Can they found? It doesnt make any noise
Hide snake in a shoe box .will it be found?
I take it you aren't going to fly there and then take a bus, because they would immediate see the snake as it went through the screening process.
I certainly wouldn't suggest it! This will be very stressful on the snake, not to mention you. Once you hit the border, your nervousness will give you away. Besides, it may well be found by a random luggage inspection. Do you really want to risk going to prison over smuggling a snake?
Why not just give it to someone else to care for while you are in France? The snake will be much better off and there's no chance of you getting caught.
Or you could check what is required to bring a pet snake into France and try to meet those requirements and be up front and honest about it.
Good luck.
Reply:Last time I was over seas Frances Borders were open.. But not sure if they closed them recently.
The shoe box does not seem very secure. I have had snakes that have escaped out of my viv.. with it locked down. So if you make it through dont be surprised if its not in the box :P
Reply:Why are you wanting to take your snake? Why are you not just leaving it in it's tank where it will be happy! I'm sure you must be joking!!!!! Allsorts of dreadful things could happen to it!!!!!
Reply:It's always possible. Good luck.
Reply:If you get caught you will lose your snake and be fined very heavily. If you are willing to risk this then go ahead and I hope you do get caught. Laws are there for our protection not just for fun.
Reply:Probably not a very good idea after the movies snakes on a plane came out!
Reply:put snake in a snake bag or pillow case. put it in your panties you'll be ok. but where baggy close . you can always take him out on the bus just take a blanket with you to put over you in the seat then you can take it out without anyone noticing then slip it in a box if you like. or if the bus has a bathroom take him out in there and switch him to a box but make sure there is a few wholes in it you can poke them on the bottom of the box or the side next to you. just be careful i know you want to keep your pet . if your worried that you will get caught you should ship him to where your going to threw fed x or something for $35-$45 lot cheeper than fines . keep it in your panties less likely to check there than your personal belongings when your going threw security. if they check you and get close to it tell them that there making you feel uncomfortable and make some kind of sound or moan or something good luck %26amp; dont get cought
Reply:no keep the box with you
Reply:Don't know whether or not it will be checked, but I can tell you that any snake that could fit in a shoebox can easily get out of one.... Not a good idea.
Reply:Not good for the snake, not good at all. Lots of scary vibrations, and smells, which will lead to a stressed out snake that will try to escape from the box. This is a ridiculous idea, don't do it.

How to fibre-glass inside a shoe box?
By the time you buy the materials to fiberglass your shoebox you will have invested much more than if you had just bought a new makeup box. You can waterproof paper mache with paint, varnish, polyurethane, epoxy, etc. But again, it may cost more than a new box.
Reply:Fibregalss isn't a sfe material to work with , it gives off fibres that you can breathe in.
Don't save yourself pennies when you can save your long term health, Go get yourself a purpose made caddie from a store?
Reply:dude go to the hard ware store they can help you but seriously cant you just go to wal mart and get a caddie bag ans the papermachie thing i think you might be abel to if you hade some soch gard
Reply:brush resin mix all over let it dry box will then be more rigid for you to fibre it

( Ireland only) religion and christmas shoe boxes?
What do you think of the organisation that runs the ' christmas shoe box appeal ' putting in leaflets about the nativity story and pushing their religious views on other people in poorer countries , would it stop you from donating the boxes and the little children receiving nothing .
( Ireland only) religion and christmas shoe boxes?
Forgive me slic - i'm not Irish....
Can i answer anyway?
Whether one believes or not, the nativity story is beautiful and a little mysterious - speaking of shepherds watching their sheep at night, angels appearing to them, wise men seeing the brightest *star* ever to appear in the sky - and following it -- it just fills ones heart with *wonder*
It's hardly pushing religion on to anyone...and giving to children who have nothing - well what can i say? -- it's the season for giving - God gave us a Saviour b/c He loves mankind so much - and He keeps on giving and giving and giving....
Reply:Thank you slic chic. Those innocent, lovely children are going to be so happy when they open their boxes. You should be proud of yourself for making a difference in their lives. Well done. xx Report It
Reply:So how come HE doesn't feed them?
We're all supposed to be sinners yet we do more good than God or Jesus ever do. You can't live on a fairy story.
Maybe the church could give away some of its' millions?
Reply:I didnt know they put leaflets in. How do the children who get them read the leaflets anyway? But that is appalling, it definately should not be done. They're hardly going to convert the children.
Reply:I think it should be secular shouldn't it? It seems wrong that they can only help out people when conversion is on the table.
Reply:Not all organisations put the leaflets in, and lets be honest they don't have to read them anyway. We are always having stuff throught our door, straight in the recycler.
Reply:This sort of appeal is run in lots of countries including the USA and UK (as well as Ireland).
Although many of the recipients are from Christian countries, many of the children are not. A lot are in Islamic countries.
I don't see any harm in it; no-one's being forced to change religion, and at the very least, hopefully non-Christians will see the Christian religion as one that cares for everyone, no matter what their beliefs.
I make at least one shoe box every year, for Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse)
Reply:They are doing a fantastic job--giving people the truth about the only hope for mankind-Jesus Christ.
Reply:I actually am a part of Operation: Christmas Child. I think its great. We are spreading the love of Jesus to children who have no idea.
here's a story for you....
We went to Africa last year at Christmastime and we were delivering these boxes. We handed a little girl a box and she went over to her mother and they were both hysterical. A friend of mine walked over and said, "Im sorry-- are you OK? Is there anything I can do?" THe mother jumps up and hugs the my friend and says, "ELMO!!!" when my friend looked down inside the box was an Elmo Tshirt, toothbrush, elmo doll, etc... The mother tells my friend that her daughter had prayed that God send her elmo bc she had never had one.
Through that, this little child who had never had a present realized that there is a prayer answering, faithful, loving God! THat is the miracle of the boxes. THese children see God through boxes that we take for granted.
We spend more time praying that these boxes seek a child that is really needing what is inside of them, and praying that God's love pour out of them; than we actually spend shopping or putting them together.
These boxes are a testimony. THere have been so many children that have seen the light of Jesus through them! :-)
Reply:I would donate to a cause that doesn't push an agenda. I know that Christians think they are goind "God's work" but when they disrespect (or don't appreciate another CULTURE and their beliefs) it's a little ignorant, don't you think?

Found a cute shoe box, help me create a room!?
I'm re-doing a bedroom and using a Tory Burch shoe box as inspiration. I love the colors (hot pink, bright orange, navy, and green) and the mod pattern. I need help finding things such as BEDDING (duvets, quilts, blankets), pillows, furniture, ect. Thank you SOO much!
Here are pictures:

Found a cute shoe box, help me create a room!?
Since the Tory Burch pattern has a lot of clean lines, go for more busy patterns and keep your walls one solid color.
TARGET [bedding]
Not quite the same colors, but similar geometric/mod pattern.

Either that or do the total opposite and go crazy with the walls and keep your furniture simple, which I happen to like more; like this http://www.creativewallcovering.com/pc/5... Maybe have at your accessories be white so they stand out more.

God's shoe box?
Okay a long long time ago I was um...let's say... oh eff it, I was on 'something' (no I'm not now, or right now anyways).
Anywhooo, my friends and I were laying out looking at the stars and this guy said
"What if we are in God's shoe box and the stars are just the little holes in the lid for air and when he takes off the lid that's our daytime and when the lid is on that's our night."
Now, I know that there are stars and the sun etc but it's still an amusing thought don't ya think?
God's shoe box?
I thought is was more like a timer light (too regular for him to be poking his head in every single day).
Should we worry about god going on vacation and god's mom forgetting to take care of us?
Maybe the flood was, as my SO calls it, a "burial at sea" *flushing noise*.
At Humanco the pimply cashier says "Just replace the dead ones with these, he will never notice the difference."
Reply:so THAT'S why it smells kinda funky in here
Reply:high five...funny thought
Reply:I would think god would hide his stash of weed in the shoe box along with his one hitter and a bic lighter.

How do you do a time capsule with a shoe box?
i'm really slow on this. does anyone know how to do a time capsule on a shoe box? I dont get it. Where do you put the pictures? Inside the shoe box or on the top on the shoe box? Where? this is for a project at skool. if u dont want to explain, can you show me a picture of a time capsule with a shoe box. thanks.
How do you do a time capsule with a shoe box?
You honestly don't know how a BOX works?
Reply:ANYTHING can be a time capsule.
Obviously, the more secure the containter, the better.
Just put things in and don't open until X years later.
Organization is up to you. You could get a blank book and put the pictures in it, along with articles, writings, drawings or whatever.
or Items could be placed on individual sheets of paper - with comments written on the paper. You could then, if you wanted, place these papers in one of those plastic sleeve things (and then in a binder)
You could take each picture and write on the back.
Realize the idea is for this box to be stored away for a long time. anything on the outside could get damaged, worn, wet, dusty, scratched, whatever. So I would put most things inside, in some kind of order. Dated, explained, whatever.
Reply:you can put the pictures on the outside or the inside..like possibly decorate the outside with the pictures or just put them inside so they wont get damages.
also put in various objects that represent you and/or this time period.
maybe write a letter to the people of the future or something fun like that.

Have you done your shoe box??
An organization which I have PERSONALLY been where the aid is received is Christmas Child. (shoe boxes)
Just to see the eyes of a child light up as they are handed this precious gift from a stranger like you or me from another country....its enough to change your perspectives and priorities.
Most schools and churches get involved and its a great way of sending a bit of hope to children who have nothing. .. who live in dia conditions....who are not loved...who are rented out for sexual needs....who don't know what it is to have even 10 pence to their name
Lets at least do what we can for the children of the world. Its not their fault. I have worked in a poverty stricken area for a year and things like this are SOOOOO important!
Please....Have you done your shoe box yet?
Have you done your shoe box??
Yep, and had great fun doing it! Did them through work, but got all my family to do one as well! Used to do them at school and really loved it, was great to do one again!

What is the big da*m deal?
Okay,I am African American Girl and I love Converse and Chuck Taylors(And almost any other shoe that resembles them.)Okay,I got some new shoes that look like converse but they are way higher than them. They look kinda like boxing shoes except they have a diffrent loko and they look kinda girly. How come some people here are talking about them like them aint no real Chucks and all this other stuff?I have real ones at home and what is the big deal? They still look good and some people like them? Are they jealous because i see them wear the same torn up,shoes everyday.?Wth man?
What is the big da*m deal?
don't sweat the haters. if you like them and your comfortable thats all that matters. your the one wearing em right? so your opinion is the only one that matters! keep on wit your own style and rock the shoe!
Reply:its seriously all in your head that they only pick on you because of your race....
if people WEREN'T making fun of you i bet you'd say, why isn't anyone pick on me? is it cos i'm african-american and they think i'll be offended?
either way you'd be upset.
and people say stuff about your shoes because they're label whores..
Reply:I think you're the one making a big deal, actually.

Charity shoe boxes?
Is there a charity where you can fill up shoe boxes with gifts and essentials for people in war torn countries or in poor countries...like they have at Christmas...but all year round? I was thinking that there must be something.

Need to send shoe boxes to tanzanian orphanage need cheapest route please total weight 26 kilos?
26 children have made up shoe boxes for the children in Morogoro tanzania the boxes can be put into one big box for easier carriage roughly about 26 kilos is the weight the cost of sending parcels by post office is too much please can you help us by giving information and adresses and telephone numbers of any organisation that can help us thank you jock
Need to send shoe boxes to tanzanian orphanage need cheapest route please total weight 26 kilos?
If you ship it through a regular postal service, the recipient may have to pay customs duties. However, if the recipient is a school (does the orphanage count?), often those fees are waived. Also sometimes your country's embassy might be willing to help ship in the "diplomatic pouch" if they can verify the contents. If so, no customs duties will be required.
I would recommend using two large boxes rather than one since the weight might be a little too much for a person to easily transport in one box.
DHL or one of the other international shipping companies may also be able to give you better recommendations about how to ship.
Finally, if the orphanage receives goods fairly often, they may know the best way to ship something. I'd suggest asking them.
Ahsanteni sana na zawadi kwa watoto.
Reply:If you are in the UK try the Royal Mail website. Otherwise, could you contact local couriers to see if they would transport the boxes for free as it's for charity - perhaps you could get your local newspaper involved - good publicity all round?
Reply:Sometimes there are certain organisations who when they have a load to transport goods to another country if it is for a charity they do not pay certain taxes etc. only port fees, other than that UPS or DHL would be the people to contact.Hope this helps. With UPS it is size as well as weight that matters so it would be worth you phoning them as they have a tracking system which means you can follow your package from U.K. to Tanzania
Reply:I know from painful experience that if you receive a parcel through the post in Tanzania you have to pay duty on the value of the goods AND on the price of postage. Don't think of posting it, therefore. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania might be able to come up with some solutions. http://www.elct.org/
Thank you for doing this for Morogoro. Asante sana!
Reply:Hello Jock try this website www.newhopetrust.org - It is an organisation here in Peterhead that are always back and forward to Orphanages across europe and they just maybe able to help you. They do have an email address for contact purposes

A shoe box filled with goodies, for the children in Africa.. Any Ideas?
My daughters Nursery have suggested that we donate a shoe box with goodies to be posted for Christmas.
I was thinking....
Lots of paper or a notebook
Pens, pencils etc
Stickers
Sweets
Tennis ball
It will be sent to Children aged 4-13 years.
I also want to give them something that is beneficial...
Any Ideas?

Unless the underlying problems affecting Africa are dealt with first your efforts will be in vain.
One thing that will help would be condoms, send them a shoebox full of condoms. Maybe they'll stop bringing kids into the world when they know that they cannot feed them.
Reply:I think items that would be beneficial to children in Africa would be: baseball-type hats, flip flop shoes or little white sneakers, socks or slipper socks, lotion with SPF protection, toothbrush %26amp; paste, scented body wash or little soaps, change purses with change in them, harmonica, little games like jacks, jump ropes, old maid or go fish, uno, etc... I think doing these little boxes is a wonderful way to get children involved in the true meaning of Christmas and giving. I'm going to see if I can get my company involved in doing the same thing here. Happy Holidays!
Reply:When we've sent them to Eastern Europe in the past, we've sent things like toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, flannel, hairbrush or comb, toys, pens, paper, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, a card and photos of our children. No sweets.

I wouldn't send sweets personally. We love them in the West, but they have different taste in Africa. A newspaper I worked for in Uk once rescued a tortured African boy and brought him over to England for treatment. Of course, readers sent him lots of chocolate. Incredibly he didn't like it!!! He was used to very simple but quite spicy savoury food, and the sweetness of chocolate was revolting to him.

The organization's website suggests to donors that they use a standard size shoe box or small plastic container with a lid and fill it with small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), school supplies from picture books and solar calculators to pens and crayons, hygiene items such as toothbrushes, hard candy, gum, T-shirts, socks, sunglasses, toy jewelary and other items.
Samaritan's Purse recommends enclosing your name and address, and possibly a photo, because the recipient may write to you.
It is also suggested that you DON'T put religious articles in your shoe box

Its christmas shoe box time?
Just a reminder to you that its that time of year again filling shoe boxes with items for the children in poorer countries ,it is so satisfying to think that those little children even keep the wrapping paper until the next box comes .
Its christmas shoe box time?
If you have a Real Aid charity shop in your area they do the Christmas Shoe Boxes. Know what you mean about seeing these kids sitting holding the boxes - saw a tv prog about it last year. If you want to do something other than just at Christmas there are schools in Malawi that need pencils, crayons etc., Schools in our area collect from the general public as well as their students. 1 pencil between 8 kids! So they need all the help they can get. As for the cynical comments about aid not getting to those who need it......this isn't confined to Third World countries I'm afraid, there have been people in this country who help out voluntarily at charity shops who help themselves to stuff and don't pay for it! Despite these displays of dishonesty we should all try to help those in need. If your priorities lie with your own then there are still people trying to rebuild their lives after the floods during the summer. If everyone stopped helping others due to politics etc., the world would be a nastier place than it already is (for some).
Reply:,,,,,,,,,,you should take it to them your self then it would be 3 times as good
Reply:You're deluded - most of this stuff gets grabbed by corrupt individuals en-route and is distributed among their own well-to-do families.
Unless of course you deliver it to the poor yourself.

Some of them just hold onto the boxes, I guess
holding them brings a kind of comfort.

Shoe box project?
how would u decorate a shoe box
with what other than constuction paper
and markers..?
Shoe box project?
Glitter glue! Completely cover with glitter glue. You can get all kinds of colors of glitter glue at Walmart. Before you do that, though, cut out pretty pictures about the size of quarters and glue them to the back of a piece of poster board, like the back of a cereal box. After they are all glued down on the poster board, quickly paint them, coat them all, with Elmer's white glue. When they dry, they glow! Cut them out when they are dry and then, when you glitter-glue the whole shoebox, arrange the little picture cut-outs on the shoebox, squishing them into the glitter glue. Very pretty. You can also glue tiny colorful pebbles into the glitter glue, or beads or whatever. If you don't have beads, make your own. Just take construction paper of different colors, cut in tiny strips and, with your fingers gooey with Elmer's glue, wad up and roll the tiny strips of paper between your fingers into little colorful balls and set out to dry on a piece of tinfoil or plastic wrap. When they are dry, decorate your shoebox with them.
Reply:use shells or beans or macaroni, silk flowers, sunflower seeds, tissue paper
Reply:you might need clay
Reply:we did make a valentine mailbox out of on e. We glued on some nice pink and red feathers and glitter and used watercolors to paint the box
Reply:i used sticks to make a teepee and rocks for a fire ring; use your imagination. you are limiting yourself. also so many scrapbook embellishments to choose from.
Reply:Glitter, cloth....
Reply:Use additional cardboard and construction paper to shape out the top portion of the mailbox for more realistic effects and use tin foil to create a metal-look. Decorate anyway from there-my kids love the valentine's stickers if thats what its for. Good Luck.

i bought these jordans from a shop there the IV(9s) there all black with a red jordan sign i wanted to know has anyone seen them in a store before like footlocker or any other shoe store cause they came in a jordan box they had the little poster with all the jordans on them i wanted to know if they were fake.
I have this question for anyone who knows alot about Jordan Shoes?
This guy maybe can help u

Reply:ALL BLACK ix= fake. If your shoes are the white/red/black one's they might be real. Fake Jordan's now come in Jordan boxes and a retro card. If they are fake, the box tag will have a different font, and the retro card will be of bad quality. Report It
Reply:They sound real. Look at the "Jordan box." Check out if everything is spelled correctly. Check the "Jordan symbol." See if it's different from the normal symbol. Usually, fakes change a small bit of the trademarked object in order to avoid lawsuits.
Did you buy your shoes in a mall? If so, they're probably real. If it's in a reputable store, they're probably real. I've seen these types of Jordan's before, though, in reputable stores, so don't worry.

Reply:No, soon after I take them off.
Reply:I wear mine all the time. They are never off. :)
Reply:You should put them back in the dust bag/box as soon as you are done with them, there nothing worse then getting them dusty and/or damaged from someone stepping/tripping on them accidently.
I definitely would if they are Jimmy Choo's!!!
Reply:Put them back?, The price i paid for them I've never taken them out!

When you buy shoes there is a small container of salt-like crystal in the box. What are these?
As Far as I know they are moisture absorbing crystals to keep the shoes or what ever the product that it usually come in moisture free during storage.
When you buy shoes there is a small container of salt-like crystal in the box. What are these?
Silica gel it absorbs moisture
Reply:You find them in other goods as well. They absorb moisture.
Reply:They are salicylic crystals. They keep the shoes dry etc.
Reply:keep them smelling new
Reply:Well.. Just don't try to eat it ok?
Reply:it's probably selica gel, to keep the shoes from humidity and prevent them turning moldy.
Reply:I believe that they are like the small packets in your vitamin bottles too: if so, they are chemically active compounds that have a property called "hygroscopic" meaning, literally, that they LOOK ("scopic") for WATER ("hygro"). So they work silently to keep the moisture down in your new shoes, probably helping prevent moisture-thriving negative conditions like mildew. :-)
Reply:GPS crystals. Use extreme caution when handeling. They can trace your where abouts.
Reply:It keeps them dry, and helps prevent humidity
Reply:It is silica gel, it is a desiccant--a substance that is supposed to absorb humidity.

Will Football boots Eg. Astros, studs make a difference playing football then playing in just ordinary shoes?
My friends keep taking the piss as I find i can't play in my Shoes aswell as My astros. Ive told them that I feel more Comfortable in astros than in shoes. But they say it doesn't matter what your wearing on your feet (Like anyhing!). I said to them why do proffesional footballers pay like £200+ on boots i said it gives you more comfort and in my opinion more control over the ball. While they said it was purely for style reasons and the look of the boots.
Btw i wear Total 90s astros.
and play as a tricky right winger (Try =D) to style my play on C.Ronaldo or Glen Little.
I like to put crosses into the box and beat players.
Yeah but anyway is there a difference?
Will Football boots Eg. Astros, studs make a difference playing football then playing in just ordinary shoes?
that's why your like ronaldo and they are not they are jealous because you have more control and balance turn on a sixpence.obviously studs would be better on turf than astros play whatever you feel comfortable in.

Does anyone want to buy a pink VK530 flip phone or brand new latin dance shoes?
I have on offer -
This is a used Baby Pink VK530 Mobile phone, with camera, I originally brought it off ebay, to find that it would not read my virgin simcard. However it does read the following sim cards, Orange, 02, T Mobile and Vodaphone.
It would be an ideal first phone for a younger girl as very simple and easy to use, it also has a few scratches on the outer casing but the screen is in perfect condition.
She did not sell it to me with a box or manual, but i can print the manual off for you free of charge, and provide a box of somesort if posting. It does come with its original charger. All in all it is a good little phone as i say it would be ideal as a first phone and of course its every girls dream. Its Pink !
Brand New Silver Latin shoes, Cheap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only tried on i originally brought these from Hong Kong, to finally receive them and find they were not really right for my outfit.
They are a uk size 5.5 with a 2.5" heel, they are extremelyy comfy

Does anyone know a good way for storing a LOT of shoes?
My aunt has a ton of shoes. She's ran out of room in her closet for storing them. Up till now she's kept them all in their original boxes and just stacked them up... But now they're falling over or hitting the ceiling. So, I was wondering if anybody knows a way to store them. Perferably cheap and compact.
Thanks!
Does anyone know a good way for storing a LOT of shoes?
how about shelves?
storing them in those boxes is a bog waste of space, and can be an eyesore
think about giving a few away. they all can't be different, her size, STILL her style, AND necessary
%26lt;3
Reply:Take all of them out, go over them and toss/give away, then stack them on the floor of the closet(s) on two-tiered racks.
What she should hang on the doors are all those purses she must have to match!
Reply:you can get one of those "over the door" shoe racks at walmart. they are little plastic pockets you put shoes in, I think they hold about ten pairs. you can also get stackable shoe racks at walmart they are made of wood. you can buy two and stack them ontop of each other, they hold about 20 pairs, they sit on the floor of your closet. hope tha helps
Reply:well definetly take them out of their boxes, thats taking up ALOT of room
Reply:go to the dollar store....they can show you stuff there
Reply:eat them
Reply:You should stuff them with tissue paper or newspaper, whichever is appropriate. I would try to store them all in shoe boxes, but if that is not possible, then line them up side by side in a long, shallow box. Don't stack them on top of eachother. They will come out squished!

Why do my toes feel ichy when i remove my shoes?
This normally happens when i remove my shoes and socks after coming home from work. when i start scratching it becomes like a Pandora's box .. i just cant stop scratching. Any remedy guys. PS: Am typing this with one hand coz the other one is down below getting busy
Why do my toes feel ichy when i remove my shoes?
go to your local chemist and show him he will advise you whether you need to see the doctor and whether or not you can use cream or powder to deal with this.
Reply:it sounds like you may have some circulation problems or your shoes need a breath of fresh air. ie: if you have some odor or athletes foot get some lotrimin for the fungal problem if you don;t have atlete's foot then try a more comfortable pair of shoes. do you have peeling skin? or maybe a rash on your feet? if not then your shoes may be too tight cutting of some of the circulation causing them to react when the pressure is off. good luck
Reply:could be swollen
Reply:No doubt this is athletes foot, and you may also be allergic to fungus, so you get a double whammy. Use Desenex, Tinacton, or other anti-fungal powder on your feet and sprinkle some inside your socks. Reduce moisture in your shoes by wearing breathable shoes and wearing socks that wick away moisture Avoid cotton socks.
Reply:athletes foot? i dont know.. go to the store and get something for the itch. if its really bad, then see a doctor. he'll prescribe you something..

What do I need for my first boxing class lesson?
I'm brand new to boxing and I have my first lesson on Saturday. I'm going to wear gym appropriate clothes, but do I need a special shoe or should I just wear my basic sneakers? Do I need anything else?
Thanks
What do I need for my first boxing class lesson?
Some of the things I'd recommend for a beginner boxer's first class...
Mouth-guard
Athletic cup/supporter (if you're male)
Good pair of sneakers / athletic shoes
Towel to wipe the sweat off
Water to drink
... the instructor will let you know what type of gloves they'd prefer you to wear (what weight) and if you'll need head-gear
Reply:Call the person sponsoring the lesson and ask him "what do I need for my first boxing class lesson".
Reply:wraps, mouth-piece, gloves (ask your trainer what kind he wants you to get), head-gear, groin protection, towel, water
Reply:10 points to the "WATCHER" thats some good info. Thanks!!
Reply:Lets start with some of the basic things that you will need at this stage of your new career.
SHOES - A running shoe will be best because the toe part of the shoe is slightly bent upward. This will help you to learn how to turn %26amp; move on your toes. Don't buy an expensive pair because all the turning you do in them will make them fit loose long before they look worn. Stay away from flat shoes or even boxing shoes because those are also flat. Later on when you can move on your feet pretty good then you can move up to a boxing shoe.
SHORTS - "DO NOT" wear a pair of shorts that are too big because when you start jumping rope they will start to fall off. Also you don't want to have to worry about your loose shorts showing off your nut-sack every time you are doing sit ups! Try a pair of brief under shorts as well.
TOWEL - So that you can not only wipe your sweat off but when you are doing sit ups you can lay on it.
JUMP ROPE - Get a cheap plastic rope that is very light in weight, heavy ropes make you drop your hands, get a light inexpensive rope.
GYM BAG - Get a small bag so that you can keep all of your stuff in it and "make sure that you keep all your things inside of it" DO NOT leave your crap all over the place.
HAND WRAPS - Let your coach sell you a pair and hopefully he has the Mexican style which are more of an elastic type of wrap. The cloth type become loose and are not very secure.
WATER BOTTLE - If you are taking your own water then make sure its only water, no Gatorade or other sports drinks. They make a sticky mess if spilled and aren't really good for you. However ask your coach 1st, I give my guys water only every 4 rounds of work. Water slows you down and it always gives you an excuse to walk away from what you are supposed to be doing so ask your coach about this..
STRONG MIND - Be alert and try to focus on what you are learning, do not be afraid to watch some of the more experience fighters or even ask a pro if they have any at this gym a question or two. A thing that you should know about pro boxers is that most of them are very humble and are willing to give you some advice. I think we have covered the basics for now, you really won't need gloves yet but if you do then thats your next question. (Ringside sells some good stuff)
I am very glad to hear that we have a new fan of this great sport and good luck to you, Im sure you'll love this game...
Reply:Lots of aspirin, a belt, shoes, gloves, tape, mouthgard, smelling salts...
